Grammar
To talk about past habits (things you did but
now you no longer do) you can use “Used to
(verb)”
Examples:
I used to eat a lot of sandwiches as a kid.
When I lived in Japan I used to eat a lot of fish, rice and soup.
She used to eat very little when she was a model.
My parents used to live in New York before living here.

Grammar
To talk about things you didn‘t do before but
now you do, you can use “Didn‘t Use To
(verb)”
Examples:
I didn‘t use to eat much meat but now I do quite often.
She didn‘t use to eat so much but now she‘s divorced
and eats a lot.
My cat didn‘t use to be like this. He used to be nice!

To explain something you didn‘t do but now you
do
Ex. I didn‘t used to eat meat, but now I love it!
You could also use “Now I prefer” to express what your current
preferences are.
