Facts.
Minor concept
Develops different dimensions of knowledge ,attitudes and process skills on the muscle fibres through
lecture method, demonstration and evolution by questioning participating in practical work and group
discussion.
-Muscle, striated, nonstarter, cardiac etc.
- The muscle tissue helps in movement.
- There are three types of muscle tissue.
- The skeletal muscles, smooth muscles, cardiac muscle are the three different types of muscle.
- The skeletal muscles are seen associated with skeletal system.
- Skeletal muscles are voluntary .
- The muscles fibres are cylindrical .
- They have dark and light striations.
- Each muscle cell has a nuclei.
- The non-striated muscle are involuntary.
-The muscle fibres seen are associated with inner organs.
-The non-striated muscle lack striations.
- The muscle fibre is spindle shaped.
- The muscle fibres are uni nucleated.
-The cardiac muscles are seen in the heart.
- They, cardiac muscles are involuntary.
- They have dark and light striations.
- The muscle fibres are branched.
- The muscle fibres are uni nucleated.
-The mus cles help in movement and they are of three types called s triated, non-striated and cardiac muscle.
-The s triated muscles are voluntary muscles with steroids nuclei, and they are cyl indrical in shape.

Learning
outcome.
-The cardiac muscles are seen on heart it is branched and s ingle nucleated.
-The non-striated muscles are involuntary muscles with no s triation and single nuclei.
The muscle tissues help in the movement of body organs.
Enables the pupils to develop.
-factual knowledge on the types of muscle fibres..
1) recalling the structure and functions of muscles.
2) recognising the role of types of muscle.
3)explaining the structure and function of muscle.
4)comparing the function of different types of muscle.
-conceptual knowledge on the types and structure of different types of musle fibers.
1)recalling the structure and function of muscle.
2)recognising the role of types of muscle.
3)explaining the structure and function of muscles.
4)comparing the function of different types ofmuscles.
-procedural knowledge on the structure of muscles through .
1)differentiating the structure and function of muscle is muscles is allows knowledge.
2)understanting different types ofmuscle and their peculiarities.
-meta cognition the structure and function of various types of muscle.
1)recognition functions of various muscle.
2)understanding types of muscle and their function.
-scientific attitudes on role of.
1)different types of muscle.
2)collects more and more information on different types of muscle.
-process skills like.
1)to realise the role of muscle.
2)classify different types of muscles ,its structure and function.
3)explaining the structure and functions of muscles
.
-Muscles help in the movement of body organs.
Chart showing different types of muscles
SYNTAX
Phase 1
Orientation
Teachers activity
Can you name those things that you observe around you? What are the main
difference between living and non-living things? can you say some properties shown
by the living organisms? The locomotion are movements exhibited by means living
things. Movement/ locomotion is one of the main properties shown by living
organisms. How does the locomotion become possible in organisms? Which body part
helps in it? does the bones alone help enough for movement? Which tissue helps in
this locomotion.
So today we shall disuses about different types of muscles and their functions.
Pupil’s activity
Phase -2
Classification
Teacher shows the pupils a chart of different types of muscles and asked them to
classified them based on any
On what basis did you classify the muscles?
-Students classify the
muscles.
Group : 1
Striated muscles.
Group : 2
Non staited muscle
Group :3
Cardiac muscle
Students classified the
muscles according it their structure.
Phase 3
Identification of characters
Can you explain the characteristics of muscles that you have classified
Group : 1
-muscles with striation
- cylindrical structure
Group :2
Muscles with no striations
-spindle shaped
Group: 3
Muscles with striations
Branched muscles
Phase -4
Formulation of facts
Teacher asked the students to formulate facts from the identified features.
From the identified facts students are asked to suggest appropriate names for
1) What will you call cylindrical muscles with striations?
2) Can you give an example for it?
3) What will you call spindle shaped non-striated muscles
4) Can you given example for non- striated muscle?
5) What will you call striated and branched muscle?
F1 ->
Striated muscles with cylindrical shape
F2 ->
- Non-striated muscles with spindle shape
F3 ->
Striated muscles with branched structures.
Striated muscles
Non- striated muscles.
6) Can you give an example for cardiac muscle?
-cardiac muscle
-Heart muscle
Phase 5
Development of concept
Teacher asked the students to develop a concept based on formulated facts.
C= F1, F2, F3,
Based on the structure of the muscle fibres they can be
classified into three groups.
-striated muscle
-non-striated muscle.
-cardiac muscle
Phase 6
Problem solving
Based on their structures muscles can be classified into three categories. Name
the three types of muscle and list their distinct characteristics.
Based on the structures there are three types of muscles
striated, non striated, and cardiacmuscle.
1) Striated muscles with striation that are cylindrical
in shape.
2) Non striated muscles with no striation and are
spindle shape
3) Cardiac muscles with striation that are branched.
Review
Questions: - Name the tissues that help in movement/ locomotion?
-Based on structure how we can classify types of muscles?
- Explain the features of striated muscles?
- Explain the features of non striated muscles?
- Explain the features of cardiac muscles?
Activity: - Prepare a chart indicating structure of muscle tissue
Follow up activity
Collect more information’s regarding muscles and prepare a report on types of muscles on different organisms.
