Ch-5 Stress Team Work
During my time working on the CH–47 structures stress team work usually came in waves. There
were only two of us working on the team, but since work had ebbed for the time being my lead felt
comfortable taking a medical leave. This effectively made me take the "lead" of our group while he

Together we set an aggressive schedule and found the necessary approvals to work overtime. In

Working In A Group Analysis
Working in a group was a great way to get to know my classmates. Despite our differences, we
worked together and completed the assignment. I like working in a group, but sometimes I would
rather do the assignment on my own. Group work has its good and bad effects. Group work allows a
big assignment to be completed at a faster pace than working alone. I did not know much about
zombies, but some of my other group members did. Each individual has different viewpoints;
therefore, it helped us accomplish our ten–paragraph essay in a small amount of time. My group as a

I liked having my peers there to help me with my writing. They let me know if I needed to make any
changes to my paragraphs. I was there to help them with their writing also. I liked that we broke up
a big task into little ones for each member. If I had to write the essay about zombies by myself, I

At the beginning of this course, students were made to understand the importance and benefits of
working in groups and by week 3 of the semester, 2 groups were formed and my group consists of 6

In solving this issue, the group should be more open to new ideas. My initial motivation towards the
group was purely intrinsic but on the long run it became extrinsic (became all about results.) as I did
not see the need to be intrinsically motivated when my contribution to the group during the first
presentation was totally discarded. The need theory wasn't properly taken into consideration in my
group as some people didn't care to know about what motivates others in the group. There were
some elements of the free rider effect because of some people feeling that their input to the group
was the best and no order input can be better than what they have offered. Carrying fellow group

Personal Narrative: The Epic Tale Of Beowulf
This story begins with me stumbling into my High School senior English course, Senior English B.
It was the first class of the day, starting roughly at 8:00 am, I was never too thrilled to be up around
this time, even to this day. The day was hot and sunny, as per usual in the sunny vista that is
Phoenix, Arizona. At this point and time in my life, I was just waiting for High School to end;
moving on to larger avenues was the most important thing on my mind. Every day I had these
thoughts in my mind, and today was no different. As I took my seat in the back of the musty and old
classroom that was barely maintained over the years, our teacher, Mr. Burns began telling us about
our next assignment. Everyone groaned, just wanting the onslaught of work to finally come to an
end. In retrospect, the work was only truly just beginning. The assignment was to be a group effort,

Groan Group Observation
Through the observation, I hardly saw any progression through the Groan Zone and I assume that is
because this group has been meeting once a week for about 10 years and while they may face
misunderstanding or miscommunication they have worked though enough of it that they have a
solid foundation of shared understanding and the collective thought processes of their teammates.
The group did in fact progress through the Divergent and Convergent Zones. At some points, they
seemed to work through both zones at the same time. For example, while generating a list of ideas
they made sure to summarize the key points of their ideas. After this step they not only looked for
the conflicting issues between their ideas but they could come to agreement on which brainstormed
ideas would work and which ones were forgettable. Finally, the last point that they processed
through was exercising judgment. This process was interesting to observe. First off, it was difficult
to observe and not comment on their ideas and secondly, I could notice the sensitivity when giving

First, I noticed the paraphrasing that was done by the facilitator. If anything, this was one of the
most used techniques. I think it was the dominate approach because she could create a new
conversation through paraphrasing and it stopped her from giving her input, while also giving her

Interpersonal Communication Reflection
Upon receiving my special project, I took the opportunity to approach it as a new challenging task
but with the commitment to make it a learning and teaching opportunity for myself. The main
objective for this project was to enhance my knowledge and to adhere to what is one of my

The reason why I choose to present this topic was because neuro disorders are hard to understand,
and I wanted to take the opportunity to teach my classmates useful information for the following
exam. Through the development and presentation of this project, the student teacher will discuss the
differences in seizures, safety precautions and nursing interventions. Before initiating presentation, I
provided 4 NCLEX style questions for pre–test and a handout. In the packet, information regarding

scores, I feel pleased with my presentation, with evidence that my classmates did learn the material
by improving post–test scores. Evaluation papers had constructive criticism, regarding speaking

Soccer Team Reflection Paper
In the beginning of class, we watched a film that reminded me of high school varsity soccer because
some of my coaches were both theory Y and theory X. My coaches would act in a very direct and
negative form which made us not want to continue being in the team but in the end, the coaches
taught us many leadership skills and also discipline which was key in a sports team. I personally felt
like I was both theories because I was the team captain so the ways I was communicate with my
players made me feel like I am a very mean person but I wanted my team mates to know the
expectations in order to be in a very competitive soccer team. I felt like I had to be both theories in
order to get my message across in the best form as possible. I had to be harsh in order to show that
my coaches and I were not just playing around, we were dedicating our time into make the best
soccer team in the USD 500 district. Towards the end of the soccer season I was seeing positive
results from each and every one of the players. It made me very happy that I got my message across
even though I wasn't naturally a theory X but I had to put myself in the players position. I felt like if
I was only a theory Y, half of the team wouldn't take me serious. The coaches in the film were a
great example of how both theories could have a good result when it comes to forming a team.
Having diversity among the team makes a leader think about every angle of how to approach the
whole team because having diversity means that individuals have different backgrounds. It can be
difficult to address the whole team on what's expected and the standards that they should be aiming
for in order to continue being in the soccer team. As a leader of the soccer team, it was very
challenging at some situations because all my teammates were depending on me in order to have
positive results.

overview of the basis of what a number talk would look like in a classroom. Number talks can be
conducted in a small group or whole group setting. It is used to help children develop strategies for

Premise: A team of three contestants answer a series seven questions by attempting to diffuse seven
bombs before they explode. On each question, one contestant will have a certain amount of time to
clip the wires that lead to the correct answers on each bomb. Each teammate must answer at least
one question in the game. Successfully diffusing a bomb adds the money at stake for the question to
the team bank. If a contestant clips a wire which leads to an incorrect answer or if time expires, the
bomb explodes, sliming the contestant with a mystery substance (maple syrup, pesto, tomato sauce,

amount of conflict. The main driving force for the conflict was based on self–disclosure that group
member Jean offered to the group, surrounding her feelings of anger and distrust with the other

Instruction Methods For Teaching Decisions
I honestly thought that this lesson was going to be taught to teach to the class. I spent countless
hours reading the information in the curriculum handbook and even collaborating with other
teachers just to understand the material properly. I was thoroughly surprised at how well the lesson
was received and it greatly boosted my self confidence in my planning and teaching decisions. This
lesson was all about symmetry and dividing "crazy cakes" evenly between two people by looking
for smaller shapes within the larger shape. The shapes of the cakes literally were crazy because they
were not shaped like your normal cake. There were many different angles and sides, because of this
each student had to really sit and visualize what other shapes were inside the cake. I feel that my
instruction methods worked great for this lesson. I followed the plan given to me by the curriculum
book by talking about the activity first then letting the students work together in groups to divide the
cakes as best as possible. I thought it would be beneficial to let students come up to the board and
practice with dividing the cakes before letting them work with their groups. I think that by allowing
a few of them to show their initial thought process allowed others to see how they could divide their
cakes as well. I then gave direct instructions on how we were to transition to our tables and begin

"Biosementaics" is to explain what connects a representation with the thing it represents. To reach
this goal, Millikan has to explain that there are special conditions that need to be met to form a
connection between a representation and its object. These "content–fixing" conditions cannot be
statistically normal conditions, because normal is a relative term. An example Millikan gives is that
of a red face. Is it a sign of sunburn? Exertion? Overheating? Embarrassment? Or, often times in my
case, alcohol flush? There are numerous views that focus on the idea that what produces a
representation is what makes it what it is. Millikan brings up views by Fodor, Stampe, Matthen, and
Dretske. Millikan dismisses Fodor's idea that content is fixed by a causal connection, but the

A Critical Reflection Of Walmart
Practice makes perfect. We came into this project knowing we can improve from our first
presentation. We knew what areas we had to focus on this time around. We became more
comfortable around each other, allowing us to be more expressive without fearing judgment from
each other, at least in my point of view. At first, we were a little upset, since we did not want to do a
presentation on Walmart. Walmart had a negative connotation to them based on their business
practices towards their employees, which pushes me away from their company. Instead, we were
hoping to base our project on a sustainable company we, as college students, are closer to, such as

Multiplicative thinking, fractions and decimals are important aspects of mathematics required for a
deep conceptual understanding. The following portfolio will discuss the key ideas of each and the
strategies to enable positive teaching. It will highlight certain difficulties and misconceptions that
children face and discuss resources and activities to help alleviate these. It will also acknowledge
the connections between the areas of mathematics and discuss the need for succinct teaching instead
of an isolated approach. Multiplicative Thinking Multiplicative thinking is imperative to a child's
understanding of important mathematical concepts and is seen as the 'big idea' in number that links
multiple key ideas and strategies (Vergnaud, as cited in Siemon, 2011). Commonly, children have a
procedural based view of multiplicative thinking which can hinder progress, as opposed to a more
conceptual view which is a far better learning framework (Hurst & Hurrell, 2016). If teachers are to
maximise a child's learning, they must acknowledge this and help children maintain a conceptual
understanding of multiplicative thinking and emphasise this much more so than procedural rules.
Several key ideas and strategies underpin the success of multiplicative thinking and a greater
conceptual understanding. Hurst and Hurrell (2014) explain that children need to be acutely aware
of the ten times multiplicative relationship between places and how this effects many aspects of
mathematics.

Rules And Order In William Golding's Lord Of The Flies
Rules and order support a society by preventing it from becoming corrupted. Having organization
and structure is very important in order to maintain a successful and civilized community. During
the Cold War, a school for boys are sent out on a plane to avoid the atomic bombs. While being
transported to safety, the plane crashes and the boys become trapped on a mysterious island. After
the crash, the boys gather everyone together and elect a chief to lead the group. The two candidates
running for chief are Ralph, a rational and kind hearted boy, and Jack, a determined, arrogant, and
aggressive figure. One of the other boys known as Piggy helps Ralph to give him logical advice to

After the plane crashes, Ralph and Piggy stumble upon a conch shell and use it to call an assembly
to gather all the boys up. When blown through, the conch creates a roaring blare that allows
everyone to hear it. This conch becomes the most important motif since it keeps the boys organized.
This conch is also used to create order among the boys to signify who has the right to talk, that way
everyone has a chance to be heard without being interrupted. This is apparent when Ralph says,
"'And another thing. We can't have everybody talking at once. We'll have to have 'Hands up' like at
school'... 'And he won't be interrupted. Except by me.' Jack was on his feet. 'We'll have rules!' he
cried excitedly. 'Lots of rules!'" (Golding 33). This rule associated with the conch helps the boys to
maintain a civilized structure by demanding the boys to give respect. Every time the conch is blown,
the boys gather and anytime anyone wants to speak during these assemblies, they hold the shell. By
instilling these 2 guidelines, all the boys have the opportunity to accept power and respect. To keep
control in the group, the boys decide to run their society similar to an autocracy. All the boys agree
electing a chief to lead the group will be the most effective way to stay organized and civilized until
they are rescued. This is evident when Jack says, "' We've got to decide about being rescued'...
'seems we ought to have a chief to decide things'"(22). By appointing a leader to guide the boys it
will keep the chaos contained and encourage the boys to remain cordial towards each other and
avoid barbaric behavior. Ralph and Jack both want the title of chief, however, when all the boys
vote, Ralph is the clear cut winner. Electing a leader and using the conch to summon the group
