Picked mostly on a whim, I was kind of excited to watch this to trash talk it as what reviews I had
seen weren't very kind. But The Curse of Sleeping Beauty is actually really watchable. Of course it
isn't great, but it's certainly not the train wreck I was led to believe. Parts were actually scary, with a
bit of a silent hill vibe to them and while the ending is more than a little on the predictable side of
things. That in no way hampers the enjoy ability of watching it all play out.

Though I have a feeling that was kind of the point of the performance, it just doesn't play that well
of Natalie Hall and Bruce Davison's more serious and focus approach. India Eisley is also bland,
well right up until twist at the end when she actually does a fair amount of shinning.
My one of my two issue's with The Curse of Sleeping Beauty is that it's a bit to slow to get going.
Though once it got going it was great. My other being the predictability of what's going to happen.
Maybe I'm just jaded from seeing to many horror films over the years, but I saw the twist from
about the thirty minute mark.
Final thoughts, overall I really liked it. Was it a masterpiece? No, of course not as few films are. But
it was entertaining and I don't consider watching a complete waste of time. The visuals are nice, the
pacing is solid and it has a great dread location that is dripping with atmosphere. Would I
recommend it? Yes, I just recommend going into with an open mind and a six–pack.

Technology is both a blessing and a curse. It can make the lives of people better or it can completely
make everything inconvenient. Technology has gone from something that was once complex to
something used on the daily. It, in fact, may be destroying and taking over society. This idea is
proposed in both "By the Waters of Babylon" by Stephen Vincent Benet and "There Will Come Soft
Rains" by Ray Bradbury. Bradbury, however, presents the most disturbing and cruel views on
technology and society. For instance in "By the Waters of Babylon" Benet presents the idea of
humans still being around even though society, as it is today, is lost. However, in "There Will Come
Soft Rains" Bradbury has no humans in his society. The only thing left of this once thriving city is a

person quotation shows that even though society was destroyed there are still people left to rebuild

Derek Walcott, born on January 23, 1930 in St. Lucia, became a well renowned African–American
author, winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1972 for his substantial work in poetry. Many of his poems
deal with the idea of race and British imperialism in the 19th century and the poem "Ruins of a
Great House" is no different. Walcott reflects on the effects of slavery and British colonization in the
Caribbean, continually referring to England as the "empire". "Ruins of a Great House" is written
from Walcott's perspective in the 19th century Caribbean and tackles the destruction of the
Caribbean culture using vivid imagery, allusion, word choice, and metaphors. Derek Walcott
eloquently conveys the frustration of the native peoples, in the Caribbean, when he portrays the
deterioration and disarray of post British rule throughout this work. Starting off his poem with an
excerpt from "Urn Burial" by Sir Thomas Browne (a treatise on the funeral rites of ancient nations),
Walcott immediately conveys to the reader a sense of death, misery and destruction. The
extinguishing of the light in the excerpt acts as a visual metaphor to death. Just like an urn holds the
remains of a person, what is left of the "Great House" holds the ruins and atrocities of British
colonialism.
In the first stanza, Walcott uses the Latin phrase "disjecta membra", meaning scattered fragments, to

"task" to do in the house as the act of filing "the lizard's dragonish claws" who now occupies the

In John Donne's lyric poem "No man is an island" he describes himself, as a man who cares about
the whole; not just the individual. He writes about someone who whole–heartedly believes in
everybody working together and performing their given role in society. However, in Derek Walcott's
mash–up poem "Ruins of a great house" he argues that Donne is "selectively compassionate" (Miya,
2016). If we read the two poems together we see that the two poets engage in cleverly written
conversation. While Donne states he is a man who cares for the collective society, Derek Walcott's
poem calls Donne out as a hypocrite, stating he is eurocentric and doesn't care at all about the people
who live and work on the colonies, or the slaves who have been forced into labor by the British
Empire. Donne states that he is all for community but as Walcott, convincingly, points out if he was
all for community he wouldn't be so Eurocentric. He would care for the colonies and not just the
mainland. These themes of ethnic superiority and ethnocentrism, presented in the poem, are still

fiction novel of the modern era and fits the modernist theme to a tee. The modern era, like any other
literary era, can be categorized by the attributes that modernist literature contain. Dune, being a
member of the literary era, is riddled with such attributes. Dune is part of the modern literary era, as
shown by it following the general theme and properties of that era.
In works of the modern literary era figures of authority are often shown as untrustworthy, this

I have a unique perspective in that I have gone through the foreclosure process twice since 2009. I

Communication in a story between the reader and the text can be as important as the writer of the
text wants it to be. Some works, like historical writings of factual statements, don't really need any
audience communication. A historical paper doesn't need the reader to express empathy for a man
killed by war since that person has been long gone and most like won't have any real relevance to
the "plot" of the paper. These two works I perceive have some warrant for audience communication,
but not as much as readers would think there would be. These works I feel take a more "take it or

Another elemental factor in Chaco Canyon great house architecture was the greater ability to protect
against wind and rain, as compared to smaller, less densely populated communities. Keeping most
daily functions within one very large building area, work and play of the inhabitants did not have to
suffer during inclement weather.
Focusing primarily on utilitarian and geometric form, the Anasazi were able to construct architecture
not before seen in the Four Corners region of the United States. The very innovative Anasazi
architecture form focused around common needs of the inhabitants, centering around a relatively

How Does The Great Gatsby Meet Daisy's House
The steps that Gatsby have taken to make sure that his reunion with Daisy is perfect including
making sure that Nick's garden looks clean, and for that he asks his workers to cut the grass. He also
makes sure that he has flowers in his house, which is the reason that he sends an entire greenhouse
to Nick's house. Not only that even before the date was fixed he ask Nick if the timing is fine with

However, all this messed up when it started raining and Gatsby's wishes were also drained, as he

this because in the beginning of the chapter it could be seen that his house was filled with lights

What's the weather like at the beginning of the chapter? The weather at the beginning of the chapter
is sunny, which is the reason that Gatsby sent over the flowers to Nick's house. However, as the

First is the beautiful outlooking, "The one on my right was a colossal affair by any stand–it was a

In the House episode, "Both Sides Now," the normative principle of autonomy is explored and
seriously called into question between House and Cuddy. When understanding the normative
principle of autonomy is to acknowledging a person's freedom over his or her actions or physical
body. House goes to great lengths to hurt Cuddy personally, and as an employee. In this episode Dr.
House feels that Cuddy is lying to him about either last night or that day about something. House
does everything possible to make Cuddy mad. But instead of breaking Cuddy's autonomy to find out
