Indian acalypha is an annual plant that grows up to 75cm tall, with oval leaves 2-8cm in length containing three visible veins. Small male flowers grow on the tips of leaves while larger triangular female flowers form. The small fruits are covered in trichomes. It is cultivated throughout India as a weed and has traditional medicinal uses, such as dried flowers treating bronchitis and roots aiding digestion.

Available all over the plain lands of India. Generally grown as weed in
gardens, farm lands, roadsides and even around homes.
