2. What is e-Bin?
• Sensors embedded inside to detect the depth of the bin with waste.
• Waste collection services can be alerted about the location to collect the
waste from respective filled smart bin.
3. Why e-Bin?
The main objectives of e-Bin system are as follows:
• Monitoring the waste management.
• Providing a smart technology for waste system.
• Avoiding human intervention.
• Reducing human time and effort.
4. Problems of existing smart bins in Nepal
• Smart bins which are previously installed by KMC are expensive but they
cannot rid ktm valley of roadside trash.
• The storage capacity of these bins is very less.
• Majority of the people are unware about the rectangular box on the streets
was really a dustbin.
5. How e-bin helps to solve these problems
• e-Bins are cheaper and more effective than smart dustbin installed by
KMC.
• Compression technology helps to store more amount of waste products.
• Eco-friendly.
• Saves time and human effort.
6. Advantages of e-Bin
.
• By using the route algorithm it will smartly find the shortest route
thus will reduce the number of vehicles used for garbage collection.
• Send optimized routes directly to drivers.
• Reduce fuel consumption.
7. Further development of this project
Further, we can develop this project in following ways:
• Compression mechanism
• Collecteor bins can be undergrounded separately for efficient disposal.
• Use of hydraulic system for loading waste materials in garbage trucks.
• Thus collected degradable waste can be converted into compost manure.
• For billing system, we can use smart card which includes ID no. and
people can use by scanning card the card with the bin.
