The document proposes an Internet of Things (IoT) based system to address issues with garbage disposal and agriculture in India. The system uses sensors in smart garbage bins to detect overflow and notify cleaners. Degradable garbage is converted to organic fertilizer and bio-degradable waste is used for road making. An IoT-enabled drip irrigation system is proposed to efficiently monitor water usage and notify farmers, improving crop yields. The system aims to achieve 100% garbage reuse and provide effective waste management and irrigation solutions.

2. Problem Statement
2
Garbage Management
India’s garbage scale stands at 0.2 to 0.6 kilograms of garbage per head per day
Nearly 10 million tons of garbage collected in the metropolitan cities
Garbage disposal has become a major issue and solid waste production is growing in volume and in
Improper Garbage maintenance leads to many diseases due to garbage overflow
Landfills are overflowing in many places and there is no space to accommodate garbage trashes
Agriculture Challenges
Root top method destroys the productivity of crop as well as the soil fertility
No proper water flow monitoring which leads to scarcity of water
3. Current Challenges
3
Garbage disposal has become a major issue and solid waste production is growing in volume and in toxicity
Manual handling of waste poses a threat to the health of the sanitation workers as the waste is highly contaminated
Garbage overflow and the non-tolerating condition of garbage to get dumped in the road is still an usual scene

9. Proposed System - GDR
9
• Battery-based Garbage bins will be used to detect the overflow of garbage
• Detects the overflow of garbage through IR sensors and Weight sensors
• IR sensors used to indicate the level of trash and weight sensor will be activated once the trash reaches the threshold (80%)
• Notification will be sent to the cleanliness department through Arduino and passed over to the cloud
• Convert the degradable waste into Organic Fertilizer and bio-degradable waste for road making
11. Proposed System – Garbage Reuse
11
• GDR proposes effective reuse of
degradable garbage into manure
bio-degradable into road making
• Achieve 100% garbage reuse and
provide a way to a cleaner city, better
infrastructure and increased hygiene
12. Proposed System – Effective Farming
12
• New method of drip irrigation
method deals with the way of using
sensors which gets controlled by the
microprocessing unit
• Effective drip irrigation method
reduces the loss of overflow of water
and also makes the productivity and
fertility of crop even in the other
season other than monsoon
• This method starts the flow of water
which gets carried to the motor and
next to the chemical injector unit
which gets monitored by the
microcontroller
13. Proposed System – Effective Farming Cntd..
13
• To control the productivity, the
water must be made to pass
through the control valve to reduce
the pressure from which the water
gets flowed through the
underground pipes directly to the
root
• Setting up of sensors in each of the
crop which is also monitored by the
microprocessor
• Signals received by the
microcontroller connected to the
network, passes those signals to the
IoT and provide notification to the
officials by sending an alert
message for activating the water
flow at the required time.
16. Benefits
16
Garbage Disposal
Reduce manual loading time and manpower deployed
Completely avoid the threat to the health of the sanitation workers as the waste is highly contaminated
Trash bins are cleared on time and provide better infrastructure and increased hygiene
On time notification to cleanliness department officials
Garbage Reuse
Efficient Garbage Management and achieve 100% reuse
Garbage can be effectively reused - Degradable garbage into manure and bio-degradable into road making
Effective Farming
Effective drip irrigation to supply required water to the root system through IoT monitoring
Improve the yield of the crops and overall production
17. Future Vision
17
• Robotics Recycler can process of removing toxic substances from
waste such as the electronic and PVC material
• Robot analyzes the sensor data in real-time. They pick hundreds of
different size and shape materials to get crushed into a manner
that it could be easily reused
• Robot can be built and used to provide automated crop surveys. A
range of sensors have been fitted to measure crop nutrient status
and stress, visible images, weed species and weed density
• A robotic irrigator in the form of a mechatronic sprinkler can be
developed to apply variable rates of water and chemigation to
predefined areas.
• Implementation of robot into modern material handling offers a
new solution to saving costs on the management of refuse
