Acidosis is a common complication in chronic kidney disease patients. When the kidneys are unable to effectively remove acid from the blood, levels of acidity rise and the pH of the blood decreases. Left untreated, acidosis can lead to further health issues like bone disease and muscle wasting.

Management depends on the severity and may involve conservative treatment or surgical intervention. Prevention is crucial in reducing the incidence of abdominal trauma in children.
