3. PROPERTIES:
1. Bitumen is plastic :
when temperature are raised as well as
when load is applied to bitumen,the
bitumen will flow , but will not return to
its original position when load is
removed.this condition is reffered to as
plastic behavior.

when one takes a thread of bitumen for a
sample and stretches or elongates it ,it

bitumen tends to be stiff and elastic.

surface in a fluid state depending upon the
