This article reviews evidence of the media impact on interpersonal violence internationally. Media violence always is a controversial topic. There are
several factors that demonstrate this impact: (1) A recognition that electronic media use now dominates most of young people's time; (2) Evidence
demonstrating violent media has multiple harmful effects on children, adolescents, and young adults; (3) The growing impact of media violence on the
media economy and media regulation; (4) Other factors, such as new technology, globalization, and regulation influence the media violence; and (5)
broad economic and social impacts of the media violence. The following analysis of these factors can provide further insight into this topic and
potentially define some actions to reduce the impact to society.
Nature and Causes of Media Violence
Media violence generally considered including film, television, video games, newspapers and other media containing or violent content that causes a

Media Violence And Stereotypes
Children who are exposed to various types of violence from a young age are more likely to initiate and behave aggressively towards others. Kids may
also take part in aggressive behavior if they feel they identify themselves with hostile characters in the media. A study conducted on youth investigated
the relationship between prolonged displays towards media violence and identification with fictional characters (Mrug, Madan, Cook, & Wright, 2015).
The results concluded that with increased exposure to high–action movie scenes, there was a greater identification with the fictional characters
presented. A 1999 school shooting, at Columbine High School in Colorado, involved two teenage boys whose lives revolved around the obsession of
violent imagery
