1. Using Sony Vegas
Give it a go. If you really can’t get to grip with it then do another print advert – but give it a try!
To open:
Start > Media > Sony > MovieStudioPlatinum
To get your clips:
Project > New > Import Media > (find all your video clips)
Once you’ve watched through your clips and decided which you want to use, start dragging them
onto the timeline, one at a time. You can trim off the start and end of each clip by hovering the
mouse over each edge.
To cut a clip in half, right click the mouse on the bit you want to cut and click ‘split’
To add an image from Photoshop, save the picture as a Jpeg and import
Transitions…
When going from one shot to another, sometimes a fancy transition/edit can be used. To dissolve 2
clips, just overlap them on your timeline. For wipes and flashes, etc. they’re on the transitions tab on
the left.
To add colour effects or special effects, click on the ‘Event FX’ symbol on each of the clips on your
timeline (or right click on a clip and choose ‘Event FX’). In there you’ll find lots of funky features.
Adverts should last 30 seconds.
