Early ideas for my film opening

1. Early Ideas
We were given time to come up with a couple of early concepts, it was difficult at first, I got
some inspiration from watching a variety of films from different genres, I finally stumbled
across a genre which I think is simple yet exciting the genre is Crime/Drama, so I went on
and came up with two concepts –
Concept 1 – This is where two detectives are investigating a murder, and they are hunting
down the murderer, the opening would be the two detective first finding the body in a
warehouse and realising the murderer is still in the warehouse with them, they would the
chase him/her down but he/she gets away.
Concept 2 – This is where a mob boss is attempting to get information out of a mole within
his mafia, the opening would be just the mob boss and the mole, punches would be thrown,
the mole finally gives the information which the mob boss is looking for, the mob boss then
shoots the mole.
Group/Genre
Genre – We decided on the Crime/Drama genre, this decision was made for a variety of
reasons, partly because we all had a wide knowledge of the genre and partly because we all
had our hearts set on the two ideas.
The group that formed was myself, Callum – whom has a wide knowledge of the chosen
genre as well as some very creative and good ideas and Amy – whom is an excellent editor
and also now has a wide knowledge of the genre, I feel our trio will be very efficient at and
professional at turning our idea into to reality.
