1. Roles –
Director- Controls the films artistic and dramatic aspects as well as visualising
the script while simultaneously directing the films technical crew. Jack Francis
will take on the role of Director in our production, he knows a lot about the
chosen genre and knows exactly how the film should look as the finished
product.
Producer- Is responsible for bring all the elements that are needed to create a
film together, they also ensure that production goes smoothly as well as
assisting thedirector. Callum Fisher willtake on the roleof producer becausehe
is very organised,heknowswhattechnical elements will be needed to make the
film successful.
Camera operator- Is responsible for controlling the camera, as well as the
placement of the camera, they also maintain the camera and make sure it’s
working properly to ensurethat the film is shot in the bestquality, they will also
advise the director on different shot types. Amy Balmer, is very confident with
using a camera, shealso knows a wide range of different shot types and how to
execute them properly.
Light and sound Manager– Lighting Director is an important role in film lighting
departments. It is their job to use the brief from the production team to design
the specific look required for each shot. The sound technicians who work in the
broadcasting industry are the skilled professionals who make films sound
amazing. Thesepeople use technical equipment to record sound, amplify voices
and edit recordings. Amy Balmer, is very confident with using sound equipment
as well as lighting equipment.
Editor- Responsible for taking all the shots filmed and dissecting and putting
them all together in post-production to create a film also adding in institutional
information for the audience, or in our case a film opening. All three of us (Amy
Balmer, Callum Fisher and Jack Francis) will help with editing, with Amy being
the main editor and Callum and Jack assisting her.
