On 31 August 1975,china recognized Bangladesh
China and Bangladesh diplomatic relations were established in January 1976
In 1977, Ziaur Rahman visited China, the first visit by any Bangladeshi head of state
to China
5. History of Relationship
Bangladesh-China friendship bridge was constructed and inaugurated
over river Buriganga connecting Dhaka and Munshiganj by the Chinese as
a token of advancing diplomatic and military relationship.
On 4 October 2000, the Government of Bangladesh issued a postage
stamp marking the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Bangladesh-
China diplomatic relations.

bilateral relations to the Strategic Partnership of Cooperation.

9. Geopolitical Relations
Bangladesh is strategically important in terms of its geopolitical position in
terms of regional power influence, as the three neighboring countries are
nuclear-armed and have problems between them.
China wants to develop relations with Bangladesh to increase regional
influence. Following this, China has sold two submarines to the
Bangladesh Navy. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Bangladesh
expects huge investment from China in the development of the country.
10. Economics Relations
The amount of foreign trade between Bangladesh and China is about 10 billion
dollars.
Bangladesh import about 8 billion dollars of goods from China while it exports 2
billion dollar of good.
China has recently waived tariffs of 97% Bangladesh's products.

11. Economics Relations
According to Bangladesh Bank, 260 million investment came to the country
in 2019. Of this, 830 million came from China, which is about 22 percent of
the total investment.
In 2016, Bangladesh and China have signed 27 deals and memorandum of
understanding (MoUs), totaling $13.6 billion. They span financing infrastructure,
energy, information and communication projects, and the two countries have agreed
on enhancing counterterrorism partnership as well.
12. Conflicts
During the 1971 war of independence, China directly voted for Pakistan in
the UN Security Council.
After independence, China did not recognize Bangladesh as an
independent state.
At present, China has approved the project by dumping it in the river
inside Tibet. As a result, Bangladesh and India are likely to be deprived of
their fair share of water.

There is no country in this world that is called a lasting
friend.
Everyone builds friendly relations with other countries to
implement the interests of their own country.
