Description: ONTAP provides software RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks) to protect data
and availability for native storage. Data ONTAP uses RAID-DP (double-parity) or RAID
Level 4 (RAID4) protection to ensure data integrity within a RAID group even if one or
two of those drives fail. Parity drives provide redundancy for the data stored in the data

2. drives. If a drive fails (or, for RAID-DP, up to two drives), the RAID subsystem can use the
parity drives to reconstruct the data in the drive that failed.
Responsibilities:
 Responsible for:
o End to end functional testing of products involving RAID impact starting from functional/design
specification review, test planning, developing new test cases, bug verification.
o Configuring different types of software RAID on ONTAP and validating the functionality to protect
data and availability.
o Upgrading and reverting validation of the ONTAP operating system on the filer
 Working on:
o HA(High Availability) and ongoing MCC project which is Cluster mode Metrocluster configuration
involved in product functionality testing.
o Y1 (Yosemite) projects while involve slicing of disks(HDD,SSD)for high storage efficiency.
o Handling VGE (Volume Granular Encryption) project which offers VOL data security to prevent
unauthorized access to data.
o Verifying in modularizing the Ontap code from RAID and WAFL perspective.

Description Test the various features of management software for managing LSI Engenio Storage
Array stack (includes controller firmware, CLI utilities, Array Management S/W’s, and
HBA Management S/W’s) with execution of various test cases and test plans in SAN
technology with GUI and CLI based.
Requirement from the customer to support various components supports faster data
access and Redundancy among the Storage.

o Preparing test plans and test strategies, test case design and mapping of test cases based on
functional requirements and new products to be released.
o Functional testing of Controller Firmware, Management Software, Enclosure based on FC/SAS for
Engenio Storage Arrays.

o LSI Engenio Storage arrays (FC) with various HBA’s (Emulex & QLogic) on different OS flavours
using SANtricity.
o Designing and testing the various RAID components/features of Management software.
o Testing Management software simulator on various configurations.
