2. Introduction
 Barisal is located in south-central Bangladesh
 Situated on the bank of Kirtonkhola river
 Previous name was Chandradip
 Also known as VeniceoftheEast
 Mostly farming and fishing based economy
 Barisal was the part of 8 sector in 1971 liberation war

3. Locate My Own Area
Bakerganj is located at 22.5500°N 90.3389°E. It
has 63,177 households and a total area of
417.2 km2 .Bakerganj has 14 Unions, 170
Mahallas, and 341 villages.
According to the 1991 Bangladesh census,
Bakerganj had a population of 336,706. Males
constituted 49.64% of the population, and
females 50.36%. Bakerganj had an average
literacy rate of 47.1% (7+ years).It was named
according to the name of its then land Lord Aga
Bakher Khan.

4.  According to the 2011 national census, the
population of Barisal stands at 328,278. By
gender, the population was 51.63 male and 48.37
percent female.
 The majority of Barisal's people are Muslims
(89.30%), Other religious groups include Hindus
(9.7%),
