observed in the Indian calendar month of Ashwin,
which corresponds to the months of September–
October in the Gregorian calendar and is a ten-day
festival of which the last five are of significance. The
festival marks the victory of goddess Durga in her
battle against the shape-shifting asura, Mahishasura.

13. Sri Sri Lakshmi Puja
Lakshmi Puja is a Hindu religious festival that falls on new moon day of dark fortnight in
the month of Ashwin (bengali month). This puja is also known as Kojagori Lokkhi puja.
Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, prosperity, auspiciousness, and good fortune, and Lord Vishnu's
wife, visits her devotees and bestows gifts and blessings upon each of them. To welcome the
Goddess, devotees clean their houses, decorate them with finery and lights, and prepare sweet
treats and delicacies as offerings. Devotees believe the happier Lakshmi is with the visit, the
more she blesses the family with health and wealth.

On 1952, The students of University of Dhaka and General
people of Bangladesh (east Pakistan) arranged massive rallies.
The west Pakistani military opened fire on rallies. Many people
were died and injured.
This is a rare incident in history, where people sacrificed their
lives for their mother tongue.
Since then Bangladeshis celebrate the International Mother
Language Day as one of their tragic days

Independent country by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
