Introduction

Babel is an important city in
Iraq because its heritage
importance.

The area of the city equal to
5243 hectare and
about258568 person.

Its position important for
the Baghdad ,Dwainya ,
Najaf and Karbala

Its meeting point for the
south and north Iraq
Urban Design

 The city of Hilla, along the banks of the Euphrates west and
east, with the focus spatial construction and expansion on
the West Western always There are 49 residential
neighborhood on the West Bank and 11 live on the West
  Eastern.

 The a population density of 63.7 people per hectare. And
vary density from one part to another
• Scheme for the city of Babylon
The transportation

 The problem of Babel transportation it’s the older basic design of the city
it’s not enough for the traffic volume and the position of the power station
and bad contribution of the park. The streets in the city is designed to the
limit traffic volume like the sixty last Century and old its net this effect of the
economic city position and increase the accident and noise that make The
expansion of roads and open sidewalks does not work.

 Generation of engineering projects in the city crosses through bridges and tunnels
and the disposal of intersections that are no longer accommodate the large numbers
of vehicles. And increase the number of hours of operation of gas stations and the
distribution of other stations in populated areas, and determine the size of vehicles
entering the city from the highway passing the city in addition to the introduction of
transportation alternative for the city, such as trams or subway to absorb as much of
the trips in the city, which attracts the largest number State employees, and citizens in
general
Recycling

 The best method for reduce the waste by Benefit from this waste such as
paper waste ,plastic material transferred it to deferent Commercial material,
and food waste. Transferred it to a small Agricultural fertilizer.

 The Agricultural fertilizer is all the produces accidental or secondary through
   field crop.

 The Production is about 5 million ton in year its used to For the manufacture
of animal feed and organic fertilizers

 There is small factory in Babel Collects waste and recycle it and this
Contribute in reduction the Pollution in the city and get benefit it like

 • 1) Retrieve glass bottles
 • 2) Paper and board
 • 3) Retrieve tires
 • 4) Recovery of plastic materials
Quality of the air

 Babel is a big city and its area always be increase and its
population double and its suffer from air phenomenon of
environmental pollution especially air pollution, Industry
,chemical industry, disposal of human ,dust ,electric power
  stations and oxide of carbon.
The climate
 Its transition climate. The range of annual rainfall
(50_200)mm. And advantage extent warming where
  temperature reach between (45-50)degree
 In winter weather prevails and temperature remain above
  freezing degree.
Green Space

• Experts in the field of environment Iraqi assert that
the size of green spaces down significantly
compared with the space of decertified areas,
while trying to competent government agencies
increase cultivation of seedlings and trees in the
general areas of the city to curb desertification
escalating in the city amid few levels of the Tigris
  and Euphrates.
Wastewater

 The solid waste collection is a big problem in Babel.
 Produces the city's population of 33400 people
about 350 metric tons of solid waste per day.
 The available energy is enough to get rid of 44% of
waste only, and is servicing 60% of the households in
  the city only.
 The network reaches sewage to only 10%.Of the houses
Health Care
The city has a number of specialized hospitals, public and
private, and therefore the surrounding urban residential
communities.
The Babel an important center for health services. yet it
lacks the institutions that specialize in medical services
women.
The Economy
 Contributed to the lack of stability and the stability of
the local market, and in the forefront of these reasons
Situation and the worsening fuel crisis and rising
transportation costs as well as other factors in Forefront
of pessimistic economic outlook prevailing in the general
 citizens reflection resulting situation.

 For non-economic reasons plaguing the Iraqi
economy. As a result, prices experienced throughout the
city sturdier but marked by vacillation and lack of
Stability with the exception of the U.S. dollar exchange
rate which has seen relatively stable as a result of the
monetary policy adopted by the Central Bank of Iraq.
Biodiversity

The biodiversity is that supports life on Earth, and I mean
diversity in organisms ranging from genetic makeup of plants
and animals and between cultural diversity.

 The health of human depend on mainly the production and
services the environment system. Babel witnessing an
unprecedented level of pollution due to the water crisis, As well
as attacks dust storms that swept parts of Mesopotamia in the
form of an unprecedented and is caused by global warming
and the generation of some changes in climate. This leads to
the threat of some endangered animals has already affected
the problem on the birds that live in the marshes and some
desert animals.
Eco Footprint

 Ecological footprint is an indicator to measure the
impact of a particular community on the planet and its
natural systems. Shows us the ecological footprint
indicator of the level of sustainability of the country's
population lifestyle specific.

 In Babel, there is some projects make interested for the
object to study the natural materials and systems
environment and how to absorb the waste.
The Employment

 Reflect the high unemployment rate in Babel largely
deficit in the rate of growth in Babel experiencing
unemployment rates of over 10 percent.

 The global economic crisis has exacerbated the problem.
