Fiber Optics are used about the telephone
system, the cable TV system or the Internet.
Also they are used in medical imaging and
mechanical engineering inspection etc.

2. What are Fiber Optics?
Fiber Optics are strands that long and thin glass
about the diameter of a human hair.
Optical fibers have two types:
Single-mode fibers and Multi-mode fibers.

3. How Does an Optical Fiber Transmit
Light?
Optical Fiber Transmit Light like of a beam can go
straight in the hallway. If the hallway has a bend
in it, it could place a mirror at the bend to reflect
the light beam around the corner.

Fiber Optic consist of many relay systems:
Transmitter, Optical fiber, Optical regenerator and
Optical receiver. These are important for Fiber
Optic component.

● Thinner – optical cable can be made smaller
than copper wire.
● Less expensive- optical cable can be made
cheaper than equivalent lengths of copper wire.

● 2 An optical fiber is drawn from a preform.
● 3 The test of a fiber.

technology and machines.
