About D-Link Router Setup
The D-Link router can be used to create a secure home network for all of your wired and
wireless devices. This will allow you to share your internet connection with any connected
device. Before you can start using the D-Link router, you'll need to setup the router.
D-Link Wireless routers have a convenient Setup Wizard to walk you through the router
configuration. To set up a D-Link router, you connect the router to your modem, connect a
computer to the network and run the Setup Wizard. The process differs slightly depending on the
type of network connection you use.
When configuring d-link router setup menus, the settings will not always be the same for each
and every wireless home network.
How you configure the routers internal setup depends mainly on how your ISP is providing your
service.
Also, on which wireless enabled devices you need to support on your wireless home network.
The methods written below can be used to setup D-Link Router:
1. Then Open the Wi-Fi status section. Click on the “Details” button. Here the IPv4 Default
gateway is written.
2. On web-browser address bar enter the IPv4 Default Gateway.
3. The setup screen will open up. Select your language and select on manual setup of internet
connection.
4. Select the internet connection which you wish have by consulting your internet service
provider.
5. Then go to the Wireless Settings.
Enter your Network Name(SSID): dlink
Security Mode: AUTO-WPA/WPA2
Network Key: A network key which shall be acting as the passowrd to use to login to the router
network.

Then click on NEXT.
6. Now specify the password which you wish to allot to your router.
7. Select a time zone of the where you are located.
8. Then the settings will be saved in your router and you will be led to another page saying
“Easy Set-Up Complete”
10. Select on the check box corresponding to “Save my Network Settings” (at the bottom of the
page). Finally click on SAVE button at the bottom of the screen.
D-Link router setup using an external Static IP:
After you’re logged into your D-Link wireless router, and are viewing the "Internet Setup"
opening screen, Click on the button labeled "Manual Internet Connection Setup" on the lower
portion of the page.
On the next page, the field "My Internet Connection is:" in the section labeled "Internet
Connection Type" Choose "Static IP" from the dropdown list as follows.
Next in the section labeled "STATIC IP ADDRESS INTERNET CONNECTION TYPE", Enter
all the IP information provided to you by your ISP during the initial setup process when you
started service.
If you cannot locate the "Static IP information sheet", you will need to contact your ISP and
request another copy before proceeding with your dlink router setup.
Once you have entered all the IP information, Click the "Save Settings" button located at the
bottom of the page.
D-Link router setup to request external IP from DHCP server:
Now that you have logged to your D-Link DIR300 series wireless router, it should be positioned
at the opening page under the "SETUP" tab and "Internet Setup" sub tab.
1. On the bottom half of the opening page, Click on the button titled "Manual Internet
Connection Setup".
2. On the next screen under the section "Internet Connection Type" Select "Dynamic IP
(DHCP) from the "My Internet Connection is:" dropdown list.
3. The other settings below may be left at their defaults.
