2. Layout/Masthead
In this article there is clear layout. There is a bold
heading reinforcing to the reader the magazine
they are reading. Further, underneath there is a
direct address to the reader in “To our readers”
not only does this directly speak to the readers
but creates tries to create a community, by
saying “readers” states that there is a wider
audience in which multiple readers are welcome,
assembling a friendlier feeling towards the people
reading the article.
3. Font
The font used in this article is very consistent the
font is that similar to a handwriting style, this style
gives the article an authenticity. The font used for
the title is the same as the font for the sub-title and
main article text, further adds to the consistency
of the page. They editor has used a big letter “T”
for the beginning of the first sentence, by doing this
some character is added to the text instead of
being the same throughout. Also, the reader is
immediately drawn to the beginning of the text as it
stands out amongst the rest of the lettering.
4. Pictures Used
The is a main image in the middle of the page
clearly showing who the article is about,
it also gives a visual for the reader so they can
stay occupied. At the bottom of the article is
a printed signature of the person who this
particular item is about, this gives the content
realism, and can make the viewer feel asthough
the article has been especially signed for them.
