2. MY 9TH GRADE CLASS & THEIR LESSON OBJECTIVES
I will be teaching a class of twenty- two students,
twelve boys and ten girls, eighteen white, two Asian,
and two African American.
By the end of the 5th day my class will be able to write
an essay about the globe theater and ways
Shakespeare included its design when writing his
plays, close read text from all five acts, & relate
Romeo and Juliet's relationships to real life modern
relationships today with the help of YouTube,
podcast, blogs, web quest, web design, social media,
Photoshop with 90% accuracy.
3. DAY BY DAY
Day 1: Read Act 1 of Romeo and Juliet; Listen to
podcast on Globe Theater
Day 2: Act out Act 2 of Romeo and Juliet; Discussion
on what aspects of the theater were used in Act 1 & 2
Day 3: Read Act 3 & 4 of Romeo and Juliet; write a
short essay on obvious differences in relationships
Day 4: Act out Act 5; Briefly go over Globe theater
involvement; Discuss Short Essays from day 3
Day 5: In 5 groups students will act out a given act
but with a modern day twist for a YouTube video then
compare Globe involvements within each acts.
