a credible reference in APA format.
1. I believe it is important to share all the information as much
as possible with the entire group for the simple fact that the
decision making is more clear and has better output on the task
at hand.
If just one individual was the only one making the decisions
there wouldn't be a group or a team.
Sharing information help you with the chance to enhance and
influence the group. By doing so this can lead to the group
bringing out more information that maybe everyone else knows
but there might be a chance of additional information that was
unknown to the group.
This might also help to encourage other members of the group
to participate more and feel as if they are a valued member of
the group.
Shared information can also be using email, group text or even
a white board as we use at work.
We use the board all the time and if really help us with
information that we might need to know right away of hand.
2. "Sharing personal information can establish a climate of
cooperation" (Beebe & Masterson, 2015). A lot of people in
groups do not always feel comfortable enough to share personal
information let alone any facts about themselves. In University
of Phoenix, we almost always have group assignments and if the
class is online, a person might not feel okay with sharing
information. I think the best next step is finding a common
interest, but a person must feel comfortable enough to share
some kind of information such as likes, dislikes, interests, and
habits. Sharing information like that can still build common
interest between other people and make groups feel more
relaxed and less out of the loop with everyone. As the quote
states the climate will change when people are more
comfortable with one another. The purpose of a team is to come
up with a successful end result no matter what the assignment
is. People put ideas together and figure out what will work best
for that particular assignment and how to make it work with
everyone's input.
Beebe, S.A. & Masterson, J.T. (2015). Communicating in Small
Groups (11th ed.). Boston, MA: Pearson
3. An attitude is a learned response to people, places, objects,
and situations. Your attitude towards something depends on past
experiences that you have been through. You will also get a
specific attitude, rather positive or negative, through the way
that people that are close to you, such as a parent, handles a
situation. Where some people have a positive attitude to a
situation, another person may have a negative attitude towards
that same situation. "A belief is what you hold to be true and
false" (Beebe & Masterson, p. 87). The things that you believe
in or not believe in will influence the way you think about
certain things. If you believe in God, you will structure your
life around that belief. If you do not believe in God, you will
structure your life around that belief. If someone believes in
God they will likely think that going to church is a normal thing
to do, whereas, someone that does not believe in God would
think that going to church is a waste of time.
Small Groups: Principles and Practices (11th ed.). Boston, MA:
Pearson Education.
4. I'm glad you pointed out that people can have a specific
attitude depending on the situation. I agree that your attitude's
can and does change depending on the situation. I just wish
more people agreed with that! We have all come across people
with bad attitudes. Having a bad attitude can effect a person in
many aspects of their life, especially professionally. No one
wants to be around someone with a bad attitude. If an employer
is evaluating you for a promotion you want to put your best foot
forward. Even if something comes up that is very frustrating
and not your fault, it's important to always keep your cool and
conduct yourself with respect and dignity. If you don't treat
yourself well, then other people won't either. An attitude is
something internal that radiates to the world and it is a choice
you make every day that presents itself through words and
actions. Even if you don't get the promotion, you will have the
peace of mind to know that you did your best and you can walk
away with your head held high.
Question for All: If you were looking at an employee for a
promotion, what behaviors would you look for and what
behaviors would disqualify the person?
5. If I were looking for an employee to hire for a promotion, the
first thing that I would do is make sure that they have the
experience and know how to do the job. The qualities that I
would be looking for in an employee that I would like to
promote would be things like, are they committed, and are they
dependable. I would want someone that has shown that they are
willing to go above and beyond their normal work duties. I
would want to know that they have shown an attitude that they
love the job and are looking for the opportunity to excel within
the company. I would also want to know what their attendance
is like. I would want someone that is never late and comes into
work to cover shifts when needed. I would also want them to be
a great team player. I would want them to be approachable to
others, and know how to communicate effectively. The
behaviors that would disqualify them would be things like,
showing up to work late or calling off all the time and not being
a team player.
6. I'm glad you pointed out that with an attitude can change on a
day to day basis, whereas a belief either doesn't change at all or
extremely rarely. As I think back on my younger years, I realize
that I had both different attitudes and belief's. I become more
spiritual as I got older and things that I used to care a lot about,
seemed less important. I guess that is the normal course of
things, but it's weird to think about how much I believed in
what I used to believe in and the events that led up to me
changing those attitudes and beliefs. It also makes me think
about the kinds of things I will believe 10 years from now!
Question for All: What are some important moments in your life
that caused you to change something about yourself?
7. Hello Class. What I come up with concerning some of the
differences between attitudes and beliefs. I will start off like
this. An attitude can and will change like the weather. A belief
will not. A belief will stay with you until it is proven other wise
from what you have always believed. Here is an example of
what an attitude in my life. At work someone try to tell me how
to do my job different from the way I have done it for years so I
get an attitude because my belief is that I am doing it right and
they are telling me I am wrong. I may be wrong because they
could have found a better way but my beliefs are keeping me
from doing it different. Now I can say this much. It is just my
opinion but I believe that my beliefs causes my attitude towards
a lot of thing in my life if not all of the things in my life. They
are a lot of differences but one will always cause the other.
8. Has there ever been a time when you have changed a set of
beliefs completely? Was this a belief you were trying to change
or resist? Was it surprising to you? How did you feel
afterwards?

A lot of people in groups do not always feel comfortable enough to share personal information let alone any facts about themselves. In University of Phoenix, we almost always have group assignments and if the class is online, a person might not feel okay with sharing information. I think the best next step is finding a common interest, but a person must feel comfortable enough to share some kind of information such as likes, dislikes, interests, and habits. Sharing information like that can still build common interest between other people and make groups feel more relaxed and less out of the loop with everyone. As the quote states the climate will change when people are more

If an employer is evaluating you for a promotion you want to put your best foot forward. Even if something comes up that is very frustrating and not your fault, it's important to always keep your cool and conduct yourself with respect and dignity. If you don't treat yourself well, then other people won't either. An attitude is something internal that radiates to the world and it is a choice you make every day that presents itself through words and actions. Even if you don't get the promotion, you will have the peace of mind to know that you did your best and you can walk away with your head held high. Question for All: If you were looking at an employee for a promotion, what behaviors would you look for and what behaviors would disqualify the person? 5. If I were looking for an employee to hire for a promotion, the first thing that I would do is make sure that they have the experience and know how to do the job. The qualities that I would be looking for in an employee that I would like to promote would be things like, are they committed, and are they dependable. I would want someone that has shown that they are willing to go above and beyond their normal work duties. I would want to know that they have shown an attitude that they love the job and are looking for the opportunity to excel within the company. I would also want to know what their attendance is like. I would want someone that is never late and comes into work to cover shifts when needed. I would also want them to be a great team player. I would want them to be approachable to others, and know how to communicate effectively. The behaviors that would disqualify them would be things like, showing up to work late or calling off all the time and not being a team player. 6. I become more spiritual as I got older and things that I used to care a lot about, seemed less important. I guess that is the normal course of things, but it's weird to think about how much I believed in what I used to believe in and the events that led up to me changing those attitudes and beliefs. It also makes me think about the kinds of things I will believe 10 years from now! Question for All: What are some important moments in your life that caused you to change something about yourself? 7. Hello Class. What I come up with concerning some of the differences between attitudes and beliefs. I will start off like this. An attitude can and will change like the weather. A belief will not. A belief will stay with you until it is proven other wise from what you have always believed. Here is an example of what an attitude in my life. At work someone try to tell me how to do my job different from the way I have done it for years so I get an attitude because my belief is that I am doing it right and they are telling me I am wrong. I may be wrong because they could have found a better way but my beliefs are keeping me from doing it different. Now I can say this much. It is just my opinion but I believe that my beliefs causes my attitude towards a lot of thing in my life if not all of the things in my life. They are a lot of differences but one will always cause the other. 8. Has there ever been a time when you have changed a set of beliefs completely? Was this a belief you were trying to change or resist? Was it surprising to you? How did you feel afterwards?
