Diversity
The concept of diversity is based on individual
acceptance and respect.
It is an understanding that individuals are unique and
different.
Cultural diversity acknowledges the existence of broad
cultural groups within Indian culture.
Cultural diversity has been part of India's history, and
through it, India culture is constantly developing.
Elements of Diversity

Gender
Ethnicity
Race
Physical Ability
Sexual Orientation
Physical
Characteristics
Income
Education
Marital Status
Religious Beliefs
Geographic Location
Parental Status
Personality Type
Workforce Diversity
Hiring people with different human qualities or
who belong to various cultural groups.
Managing Diversity is defined has the “planning and
implementing organizational systems and practices to
manage people so that the potential advantages of
diversity are maximized while its potential
disadvantages are minimized”.

Multiculturalism
Multiculturalism is a system of beliefs and behaviors
that recognizes and respects the presence of all
diverse groups in an organization or society,
acknowledges and values their socio-cultural
differences, and encourages and enables their
continued contribution within an inclusive cultural
context which empowers all within the organization
or society.
Women in the Workplace
The need to understand diversity is also driven by
women in the workplace.
Today's workforce has the highest levels of
employment participation ever by women.
The number of dual income families and single
working mothers has increased.
Change in the family structure means that there are
fewer men and women in traditional family roles.
Therefore, diversity issues cut across both race and
gender.
Benefits of Diverse workplace
Customer service improves when staff
understand and can communicate skillfully with
customers from a range of backgrounds.
The community is also more likely to identify
with and relate to companies that reflect its
level of diversity
Workplace diversity where staff are encouraged
to work in their areas of strength and capability.
Valuing diversity where staff potential is
recognized and developed.
Diversity is at the heart of our
business.
We strive to create a work
environment that provides all our
associates equal access to
information, development and
opportunity.

global team of associates, which is
rich in diverse people, talent and
ideas.
We see diversity as more than just
policies and practices.

A diverse workforce is a reflection of a changing
world and marketplace.

organizations.
Respecting individual differences will benefit the
workplace by creating a competitive edge and
increasing work productivity.
Diversity management benefits associates by creating
a fair and safe environment where everyone has
access to opportunities and challenges.

Diversity The concept of diversity is based on individual acceptance and respect. It is an understanding that individuals are unique and different. Cultural diversity acknowledges the existence of broad cultural groups within Indian culture. Cultural diversity has been part of India's history, and through it, India culture is constantly developing.

  • 4. Workforce Diversity Hiring people with different human qualities or who belong to various cultural groups.
  • 5. Managing Diversity is defined has the “planning and implementing organizational systems and practices to manage people so that the potential advantages of diversity are maximized while its potential disadvantages are minimized”. Managing Diversity

Multiculturalism Multiculturalism is a system of beliefs and behaviors that recognizes and respects the presence of all diverse groups in an organization or society, acknowledges and values their socio-cultural differences, and encourages and enables their continued contribution within an inclusive cultural context which empowers all within the organization or society.

Women in the Workplace The need to understand diversity is also driven by women in the workplace. Today's workforce has the highest levels of employment participation ever by women. The number of dual income families and single working mothers has increased. Change in the family structure means that there are fewer men and women in traditional family roles. Therefore, diversity issues cut across both race and gender.
  • 9. Benefits of Diverse workplace Customer service improves when staff understand and can communicate skillfully with customers from a range of backgrounds. The community is also more likely to identify with and relate to companies that reflect its level of diversity Workplace diversity where staff are encouraged to work in their areas of strength and capability. Valuing diversity where staff potential is recognized and developed.
  • 10. Diversity is at the heart of our business. We strive to create a work environment that provides all our associates equal access to information, development and opportunity. By building an inclusive workplace environment, we seek to leverage our global team of associates, which is rich in diverse people, talent and ideas. We see diversity as more than just policies and practices. My objective is not only try to take a stand on this issue, but also I would like to try and present both sides of issue. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing me . My today’s topic is DIVERSITY AT WORKPLACE
  2. Workplace diversity refers to the variety of differences between people in an organization. It is also understanding of individual are different and unique. Cultural diversity has been major party of Indian history, and through it, Indian culture is consistently developing.
  3. These are the elements of the diversity, in which a person can judge an another person by..age, genger, physical ability, income, education, marital status, religious etc.
  4. Hiring people with defferent cultural backgrounds. Company always look at the diversity in the organization, therefore recruiters visits colleges of all over India and take them in a common cultural areas. Where they adopt the culture and manage the diversity towards organizational goal.
  5. Managing diversity : The best way to managing the diversity is Planning and Implementing organizational systems so that the advantages of diversity are maximized while its disadvantages are minimized. Most people believe in the golden rule : treat others as you want to be treated. It is implicit that how you want to be treated is how others want to be treated. But when you look this through diversity prospective, you begin to ask the question – what does respect look like?, does it look same for everyone? No right …so you should not treat people as you are treated.
  6. Equation of the diversity: Respecting individuals from diff background + valuing or respect them+ with representing our business = Diversity
  7. Multiculturalism is of multiple group of cultures existing within one society. It’s a system of behaviors to respect the presence of all the diverse group in an organization.
  8. Women in the workplace: Today the employment of women has increase than India history and workforce has the highest levels of employment participation ever by women. The no of single working mother has increased. Therefore, diversity issues cut across both race and gender.
  9. Customer service…example of call centers Staffs are encouraged to work in their areas to reflect its diversity. Valuing diversity leads potential development.

Here I would like to conclude that…A diverse workforce is a reflection of a changing world and marketplace It brings high value in the market It increases work productivity It creates fair and safe environment where everyone has access to opportunities and challenges. The teacher or tutor has to treat and take care of the differences in the group and to use them in a constructive way so they turn out positively for the work of the whole group.
