 The first thing that I noticed about this music magazine was the large image
that took centre stage on the magazine. I like the red masthead of this
magazine as it looks professional however the photo of Oasis in the top
corner looks like it was put there by mistake. I would this style of magazine
as Q is an incredibly successful magazine.

4. The Masthead
 The masthead is located in the top left hand corner and it occupies
roughly 1/8 of the page. The masthead is red, white and blue and
the font of the masthead is Sans Serif.

 There are five cover stories on the front of this magazine and they
are all the same font. However the font is not all the same size.

6. Fonts
 The style of the font across the magazine represents the genre as it
very clear and mature. It includes no scripture that you may expect
from a classical magazine. The font represents a mature target
audience who enjoy ‘normal’ music.

 There are several pieces of text on the banners and the banners are
not transparent or semi-transparent. The main colour scheme of the
banner is red, white and blue.

 There is only one pug in this magazine and that is a photo of Oasis.

WHO IS IT FOR?

 I believe that the magazine if for both males and females as it includes a range of
neutral colours that are not specific to any sex. For example white and red are no I
not representative of any sex. This magazine is aimed at people from the ages of 20-
29 as the text looks very mature. I also know that this magazine is aimed at this age
range as it includes articles on Oasis and the Manic Street Preachers which are older
bands.

11. What makes you want to buy it?
 The image looks very eye catching as it dramatic which could grab
the attention of people walking by, it also includes a range of bright,
visually appealing colours.

 The front cover of the magazine is of a high quality which makes the
rest of the magazine look professional and mature.

WHAT IS THE PHOTOGRAPHY LIKE?

14. The Model
 The image relates to the headline as the headline is about “Lily
Allen” and the image is of “Lily Allen”. The model is looking straight
into the camera and the pose is a Action shot. The photograph is a
studio shot and the colour has been enhanced.

 The quality of the photograph is very sharp and the background is not in
focus. The background is not cluttered and the image is in colour, the
main part of the image is big.
