INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction
Chittilapilly is reported to have introduced a new business model by total
product outsourcing coupled with in-house quality control when his factories were shut
down following a workers' strike in the 1980s. Later, diversifying the business, he
started the first water theme park in the state of Kerala under the name, Veegaland, in
2000. Another park on a larger scale, Wonderla, was subsequently started in Bengaluru.
Veegaland has since been renamed as Wonderla Kochi, in an effort to establish the
name as a brand. Veegaland Developers is another venture by Kochouseph
Chittillappilly that is in to construction of ready to occupy flats and apartments in
Cochin. The company has an Indian market share of 20 percent in UPS segment, 15
percent in pumps, 12 percent in water heaters and 7 percent in wiring cables segments.

2.1 About kochouseph
Kochouseph Thomas Chittilappilly is an Indian business magnate, writer,
investor and philanthropist. He is the founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officerof
V-Guard Industries Ltd and a chain of amusement parks called Wonderla. K.
Chittilappilly Foundation, a non profit organization founded by him is engaged in
charitable and philanthropic activities. Chittilappilly is a recipient of the Rashtriya
Samman award from the Government of India for being among the highest taxpayers
and the Newsmaker of the Year 2011 award from Malayala Manorama. As the chairman
of the Stray Dog Free movement, he has advocated for government action to address the
"menace" of stray dogs in his home state of Kerala, and has criticized legislation
forbidding the killing of stray dogs.
Kochouseph Chittilappilly was born to C. O. Thomas in Parappur, a suburb of
Thrissur in the south Indian state of Kerala in 1950. His early schooling was at the local
church school after which he graduated from Christ College, Irinjalakuda and followed
it with a master's degree in Physics from St. Thomas College, Thrissur in 1970. His
career kick started in 1973 at Telics, a Thiruvananthapuram based electronics company
manufacturing voltage stabilizers and emergency lamps, in the capacity of a supervisor
where he worked for three years.
In 1977, he founded V-Guard Industries, a small electronics manufacturing unit
for the production of voltage stabilizers with a capital of ₹100,000. The company which
had 2 employees at its modest manufacturing facility in Thrissur at inception, grew over
the years to become the largest selling stabilizer brand in India.

V.GUARD
V-Guard is one of India’s consumer goods company with diversified product
offerings. Headquartered in city of Kochi, Kerala, the company now has over 500
distributors, 30,000 retailers, and branches
across India. It’s listed with the NSE and
BSE since 2008. Over the years V-Guard has
sold into domestic, industrial and agricultural
electronic goods and appliances category taking the total company revenue to over Rs.
2150 Crore in 2016-17 The company started in 1977, when Kochouseph Chittilappilly
set out to build a brand in the Indian electric and electronic goods industry The
company started with a small manufacturing unit for voltage stabilizers, a capital of
Rs.100,000 and two employees. The Kangaroo logo was created by artist Sreekandan
V.A. (Manii). The company’s current Managing Director, Mithun Chittilappilly is a
Post Graduate in Management from the University Of Melbourne, Australia.
In the year 2006, he joined V-Guard as the Executive Director and in 2012, he
was appointed as the Managing Director of the company. Mithun Chittilappilly has
previously worked with leading MNCs like Deloitte & Hewlett Packard. Chairman and
founder, Kochouseph Chittilappilly was born in 1950 in Thrissur District, Kerala into a
family traditionally engaged in agriculture.
V-GUARD offers a range of products from Voltage Stabilizer to Digital UPS,
Inverter and Inverter Batteries, Electric Water Heaters, Solar Water Heaters, Domestic

WONDERLA
Wonderla Holidays, is one of the largest amusement park operators in India,
headquartered near Bidadi, 28 kilometres (17 mi) from Bengaluru, Karnataka. Wonderla
Holidays Limited currently operates 3 amusement parks in Kochi, Bengaluru and
Hyderabad, and 1 resort in Bengaluru.[1] It is promoted by Kochouseph Chittilappilly
and his son Arun Chittilappilly as a subsidiary of V-Guard Industries. The first
amusement park, Wonderla Kochi, was set up in 2000.
The third amusement park project Wonderla Hyderabad was commissioned in
April 2016.[2] Wonderla holidays is currently planning to open its 4th amusement park
in Chennai, expected to be operational by the end of 2018. Wonderla amusement parks
offers a variety of rides for all ages to enjoy, some of their rides are Recoil, Maverick,
Y-Scream, and their latest addition Mission interstellar.
In the year 2000, Kochouseph Chittilappilly started the flagship amusement
water themed park under the name Veegaland in Kochi, Kerala. 75-crore INR was
invested in the constructions and development of veegaland. In 2005 due to
overwhelming success of the Veegaland project, Kochouseph Chittilappilly decided to
build another amusement park on a larger scale at a cost of 105 crore INR in Bengaluru
and named it Wonderla.
It is spread over an area of 82 acres (33 ha). In order to establish Wonderla as a
brand, Veegaland was renamed as Wonderla Kochi in 2011. The third amusement park,
Wonderla Hyderabad was commissioned in April 2016. wonderla holidays Plans to
open a new park every 4 years, next in line are Chennai, Pune, Mumbai & Ahmedabad.

CONCLUSION
Kouchouseph Chittilappilly, who is one of the leading businessman in Kerala, In
the initial time struggled very well to start up his business. He couldn't collect much
capital at that time. Eventhough he decided to commence it. With the minimum capital
he began the business.He had only four employees to do the works. The box was made
by one of the his family friend.Those days he had a competitor which was keltron
company.
