 The article discusses applied behavior
analysis and the various components
involves in the changing socially
important behaviors.
 Applied behavior analysis comprises of
the following dimensions applied,
behavioral, analytic, technological,
conceptual systems, effectiveness and
generality.

3. SUMMARY
 The applied dimension, focuses on issues
that are important to society rather than
theory.
 The behavioral aspects focuses on
measurable behavioral changes
 Analytic demonstrates proof that stimuli
is responsible for the change

 Technological provides a detail
description in order to replicate the
results.
 Conceptual system studies must be
theoretical based.
 Effective applies the socially important
changes which should be obvious

5. SUMMARY
 Generality the behavioral change
should be permanent regardless of
environment.

6. PRACTICAL APPLICATION
 In Ms. Pearson class, all students turned in their
homework on time, so Ms. Pearson praises the
class for submitting their homework on time. As
a result she gave them an additional 10
minutes at recess. In the future, students will
likely turn in their homework on time.

7. OPINION
The article was not written objectively and
in some cases when the author discredited
the non-applied researchers’ procedures it
weaken the argument presented in
support of applied researchers.

8. OPINION
The dimensions presented relates to the
behaviorist theory, experiments are performed
in the social setting, behavior are observed in
order to identify and accurately measure the
change as well as ascertain the cause
responsible for the behavior change

9. OPINION
Based on the arguments presented for
applied behavior analysis, when the
dimensions are utilized the resulting
behavioral change is permanent.
