often disputed by the NCAA. Not having enough money to pay athletes what they deserve has been
one of the biggest arguments from universities and colleges for many years. However, Eitzen's

It's truly been an interesting week, and typically it is for me. Never a dull moment when you're on

Ever since I could remember my parents told me that college was key to being successful in life, if
you didn 't attend a good college your life was most likely not going to be a very happy one. This
message stay throughout my life , education was of great importance and college was the key factor
of where you ended up in life. High school counselors, teachers, parents, and mentors all
emphasized that the better the college you attend the more opportunities you 'll have. Being a high
school senior and having to think seriously about the future now, I applied for many schools and
landed at Utah Valley University, a great feeder school for Brigham Young University. I attended
Utah Valley University for 1 semester and I really enjoyed many aspects of going to a university but
decided to go back home to orange county and attend a community college instead, Coastline
Community College. I have so far been enrolled at coastline for about a month and can see the
likenesses and the differences between the university life and the community college life. I can see

Match Observation The purpose of this assignment was to observe and analyze the behaviors of UC
Davis athletes on an NCAA Intercollegiate sports team. I was able to observe the athletes in their

hobby has been athletics. I have excelled in athletics all my life and decided to take it to the college

When I was young, I came to understand that a person's creativity cannot be constrained to their
situation. I learned that everything we do is based off the choices in our life. While someone can
offend, discourage or harm you, they cannot force your response. As a decision maker, this taught
me a lot about how I need to approach choices; that is, I cannot rely solely on instinct to choose a
correct path. Mentors, friends, and family are needed to guide decisions, because they will weigh
options based on unique experiences that they have, which will offer a more direct insight to make
the correct choice. This is hard for me, however, since I am not one to create mentors or friends,
which leads me to rely on family. A family can be supportive if necessary, but they default to
positions when placed under new experiences. For example, when a child in my family has broken a

My Personal Experience In College
After I graduated High School, I moved to Logan, Utah to pursue my Bachelors at Utah State
University. This move was actually quite easy. My mom drove down with me to help me move into
my apartment and all of my belongings easily fit between our two cars. About halfway through the
semester, everything kind of fell apart. I hated my program, I didn't like the atmosphere of the
university and I wanted out. It was not anything like I was hoping, and I decided I was definitely not
going to stay. However, I wanted to finish out the semester and tie up all my loose ends before I
transferred. After a couple weeks of heavy research, hours on the phone, and lots and lots of emails,
I was set to transfer to Boise State University located in Boise, Idaho. The first of my problems was
fitting all of my things in my one car. I was by myself this time and there was nobody to help me.
Therefore, I spent hours packing, unpacking and repositioning things until my car looked like the
king of Tetris had payed me a visited. I could only see out of the driver's side window and the
windshield. I didn't care though, I just wanted everything to fit and miraculously it did. I moved in
December. Idaho and Utah freeways are treacherous during that time of year. I set out on my drive
knowing the roads were going to be slick but I would just take my time. After I was about an hour
into my drive, it started to snow, which wasn't uncommon. Another twenty minutes passed and it
was snowing pretty heavily.

The average attendance of a Big 12 Conference basketball game in the 2014–2015 season was
10,289 for men and 4,002 for women. This represents a huge issue for TCU because the school has
fallen well below the conference average. The average attendance for a TCU Men's basketball game
in 2014 was 4,955; as one of the big three moneymaker sports for men this represents a huge loss of

We will do three rounds of surveys for a grand total of 6 hours in survey time and cost $735.00.

Limitations
Within addressing the marketing research problem, we expect to encounter a few limitations. First
and foremost, our ability to gain perspective on the demographics we are trying to reach remains

Do Not Pet! Service Dog on the Job
Walking into my final class of the day, I noticed that a fellow student is with a dog. As I got closer to
the couple, the urge to pet the animal washed over me. My hands began to itch to feel the fur on my
skin and to find the extraordinary spot behind the ear that all dogs love. However, a red vest caught
my eyes with the words "SERVICE DOG" and "DO NOT PET" that yelled at me to not go through
with my actions. Reluctantly obeying the warnings, I sat down next to the pair with an
unaccomplished mission that was put before me. Trying to ignore the desire to pet the dog, another
student asked if they could pet the dog. I heard the owner respond with, "I'm sorry. He's still in
training." After hearing this, I realized that we forget that these dogs are on the job to help out their
owners with their medical or mental disabilities and we, the outsiders, only see these dogs for our
amusement. By defining what is considered a service animal, what the policies are for college
campuses, what these animals are trained specifically for a certain numbers of tasks and we, as
students, must respect their job and their owners. However, there are those that abuse the power of
the loose definition of a service animal. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 opened

The Today 's Soccer Big West Conference Championship Game...
The live sporting event that I chose to observe was the 2015 Woman's Soccer Big West Conference
championship game with Cal State Fullerton competing against Cal State Long Beach. The game
took place on Sunday, November 8th at 1:00pm at Cal State Fullerton. This game is significant
because it determines who wins the Big West and who qualifies for the NCAA tournament, so
pressure on the players and intensity are very high. Throughout the game, I observed the game as a
sport psychologist professional and observed the player's and coach's behaviors that relate to Sport

were: situational awareness, arousal regulation strategies, and reinforcements.

The player's situational awareness has a huge impact on the ball movement because they know
where each player will be during certain situations and are able to make quick decisions under
pressure, thus moving the ball more efficiently. Another observation that portrays situational
awareness was when the goalie of Cal State Fullerton predicted where the ball was going to be
kicked during the attempted score of a Long Beach State player. Instead of waiting for the opponent
to kick the ball and then reacting, the goalie predicted where the ball was going to travel and jumped
as the opponent was making the kick to deflect the ball. According to Weinberg and Gould, athletes
who have good situational awareness, "always make it seem as if they are a step ahead of everyone
else." The goalie was able assess the situation quickly and stay a move ahead of her opponent
because she had been in this situation in the past. Her situational awareness gave her a competitive
edge, allowed her to make the appropriate decision, and prevented Long Beach State from scoring
any points. The second concept of sport psychology displayed during the soccer game was the use of
arousal regulation strategies. Arousal regulation strategies are methods that either increase or
decrease arousal levels of a person (Weinberg & Gould, 2011). It is crucial for athletes to be aware
