Standard 5 Artifacts Decision Making

  • 1. Standard 5-Decision Making Strategies High Performing Leaders plan effectively, use critical thinking and problem solving techniques, and collect and analyze data for continuous school improvement. Elements Meets standards for school building leadership Projects, activities, etc. Hours Establishes a goal Establishes goals and targets. Is developing a set of problem solving techniques and decision making utilities. Understands that events and problems can have a variety of explanations. Consultation with faculty in regards to student progress related to FCAT scores. Identified needs of students through several faculty and community meetings. 10 Implements the use of data. Can explain and defend decisions made. Uses data to inform decisions. Uses others to assist in the accomplishment of organization goals. Spent time with faculty in learning how to input data regarding students. 12 Implements a plan Supports student learning when making curricular and instructional decisions. Has a problem-solving model to use when confronted with unsettled questions or undesirable situations Assisted parent with problems regarding their child. Referred parent to proper community organization. Worked in student services, assisted students with various problems related to home and school. 10 Carries out a plan Conforms to appropriate legal standards. Makes decisions in a timely fashion using the best available information. Provides opportunities to involved family and community in a broad range of school activities. Constructed several presentations including a PowerPoint and a flyer which was handed out to inform students and parents of programs in the community. 8
