I’m going to explain our company background.\nRakuRaku.com is the one of the best individual IT company in Kyoto.\n
RakuRaku.com was founded in 2006.\n
First we developed a traffic monitoring system. We got a special knowledge of image analysis, control system and around the clock operation system through that experience.\nIn addition, I’ve worked as an engineer for traffic monitoring since I was 20 years old. But everybody say that I don’t look like engineer.\n
Next, we developed security facial recognition system.\n\nBeautecam is the new solution that we convert the knowledge and technology from these development experiences for public institutions into for consumers. \n
Now, let the description about Skin Care Social ‘Beautecam’.\n
Everyone in the world pursue beauty.\nEven if two people take the same skincare, one can turn to be good for skin while the other might not.\nBecause the skincare effect depends on their skin type. So they need to understand their own skin deeply.\nWe focused on that problem, and developed a new solution for people who pursue the beauty to understand their skin type and find the cosmetics based on their skin type.\n
We developed three solutions Hardware, Software and Business model.\nFirst is a 30x zoom lens for skin analysis.\nSecond is software application that includes multiple engines that can analyze skin, recommend cosmetics based on skin type and can also show the right ad based on user’s information.\nThird is the integration with social media. It’s easy to share all of the information with others and create a viral effect. \n
The skin analysis step is extremely simple! They can check their skin in only 3steps\nStep1 is ‘The lens on your smartphone’\nStep2 is ‘Start the Beautecam application’\nStep3 is ‘Shoot your skin’, that’s all\nSkin analysis was usually temporary and invisible so far, but they can keep visual track of their skin condition for long time with Beautecam solution.\n
If you took your skin picture by our Beautecam lens, you might be surprised with the precision level.\nAfter shooting skin picture, we provide three kinds of skin analysis\nFirst is a ranking among the Beautecam users worldwide or domestic. Users are able to see what kind of cosmetics the top ranked person is using and what they do for skincare. \nSecond is their skin type such as dry skin or normal skin.\nThird is their skin condition in five categories, which is smoothness, spot, pore, moisture and oil balance. Users also get the expert advise about causes and solutions in each categories.\n
We have 3 strength points.\nPoint one is ‘Low cost Beautecam lens’ that we already filled patent. It cost only $3.50. Application is free, so users can get those services just for $3.50.\nPoint two is users can get ‘high precision skin analysis’ at your home without going to department store or cosmetics company.\nIn addition, customers can get benefit from integration with social media to share information with others. So users can connect with someone who has a similar skin condition and get useful information to decide cosmetics from other users.\n
We will release new version of lens in May. It will include the recognition and correction system to analyze the skin condition of people with different skin color.\nIn addition, this lens has the authentication code, so that we can recognize where the users purchased the lens from.\n
We have 20 experienced engineers and our expert domain is machine vision such as traffic monitoring and security facial recognition, so that we have the right team to pursue skin application.\nNow we analyze skin based on over 20 thousand of skin database. And we would provide more precise analysis after accumulating more skin data.\n
Next, I’m going to explain the process of skin analysis in five categories.\n\nFirst, Beautecam analyze the skin smoothness and moisture. We detect a feature of smoothness by the image processing technologies, and find out the existence and size of smoothness. We also find out the moisture by the result and inquiry of smoothness.\n
Second, Beautecam analyze the skin pore and oil balance. We detect the pore by the image processing technologies as analyzing smoothness, and find out the size, shape and number of pore. And then we find out the oil balance by the result of pore and user’s age.\n
Third, Beautecam analyze the skin spot. We change the image picture to gray scale, and we detect the spot by brightness of gray scale picture. And then we find out the spot condition by the size and tint.\n
I’m going to explain the integration of Beautecam and social media.\nWe already provide the integration of Facebook and Twitter without sign up in our system.\nUsers can feed the skin analysis results and comments into the social media pages and share the information with their friends. \nThe important thing is that we don’t have our own platform but we have strong integration with big social medias. It makes Beautecam exploit their users, data and functions and is able to choose social media that match us in each trend.\n
It was hard for the consumers before to decide which cosmetics would match their skin with limited information available.\nBut Beautecam is the perfect solution for them, because it is easy to know their skin type, easy to connect with other people who have similar skin condition, so it makes people find good cosmetics easily by reliable information.\n\nIn addition, Beautecam is modern direct communication channel with users for advertisement and marketing as the Beautecam has data mining functionality which includes user age, skin type, location.\n\nOur mission is to make a revolutionary wave of innovation in beauty industry.\n
Next, I’m going to explain our roadmap.\n\nFirst, we plan to exhibit Beautecam in Cosmoprof, Las Vegas in July. This is the one of the biggest cosmetics event in the world. I believe that event match Beautecam’s promotion.\n\nSecond, we plan to exhibit Beautecam in ad-tec, New York in November. In this event we will publish the new marketing promotion. We will also apply for the Le Web, Paris in same time. \n\nThird, we plan to exhibit Beautecam in South By Southwest, Texas in 2012 and aim for the interactive award in this event.\n\nI believe that those events would help Beautecam to gain publicity in the world.\n\nAfter we accumulate a lot of users’ data, we would have a possibility to integrate with many industries.\nOne of possibilities is healthcare industry, so that we believe the Beautecam has a ripple effect on not only cosmetics industry but also on many industries. \n\nFinally, I’m going to explain our exit strategy.\nWe see both option an IPO and an acquisition. We would decide the acquisition only by company that makes Beautecam’s social netowarking accelerate and expand to the world. \n
Finally, I would summarize our goal.\nThrough Beautecam we make users experience new awareness and learning of skincare, and provide many service to solve the skincare’s problems.\nAnd we challenge to spread new beauty culture for all over the world.\n\nWe feel that L’Oreal can expand its business thorough our special hardware and software platform which is the right solution for the internet age.\n\nThank you for your attention.\n
