2. A joint project of the McKinney Rotary and
the McKinney Sunrise and Sunset Rotary Clubs
Partnering with the City of McKinney to create a new
recreational facility which will be accessible to all children and
parents, focusing on those with special needs
Two Years of planning and fundraising…..

• The Children of McKinney: ALL the children
• Parents and adult family members with disabilities
• Children living in McKinney, Allen, Prosper, Lovejoy,
Frisco, Melissa, Anna, Farmersville and other towns
• A “Destination” playground for
Collin County

4. BONNIE WENK ALL-ABILITIES PARK / PLAYGROUND
• A component of the 2nd phase of Bonnie Wenk Park.
• The projected Grand Opening is spring 2018
• Rotary Wheel permanently part of the foundation
• 42 Playgrounds currently in McKinney:
Bonnie Wenk will be only one focusing on the
accessibility/playability of children/adults
with special needs

• The poured foundation defines
accessible playground
• Increases cost of surface by
50 - 75% (Bid cost $170,765.00)
• Additional Astro Turf $30,157.44
in non-impact areas
