Dassault Falcon is investing
heavily in India to better serve
its expanding customer base in
the Indian Subcontinent and
prepareforfuturegrowth.These
investmentswillbehighlighted,
along with Falcon’s full line of
large cabin long range business
jets, at Aero India which opens
February 6, at Yelahanka Air
Force Station in Bengaluru, In-
dia.
Dassault built its reputation
foradvancedhigh-performance
aircraft in the region with the
IndianAirForcewhichoperates
50Mirage2000fightersand,in
January2012,selectedthenew-
generation Rafale for its Medi-
umMulti-RoleAircraft(MMRA)
mission. But this reputation for
designexcellenceisalsoincreas-
ingly driven by advanced busi-
ness aircraft like the Falcon 7X,
the Falcon 900LX and the Fal-
con 2000 family.
DassaultistheIndianmarket
leader for large cabin business
jets, with approximately 20 air-
craft currently in operation in
the country, and expects to de-
liver several more over the next
two years.
Last autumn, Dassault
opened a new Falcon liaison of-
fice in New Delhi to serve as a
hub for its expanding business
in the region. It also added a
new Dassault engineer to rein-
force its local team.
EnhancingSupport Network
in India
InJuly2012,charteroperator
Taj Air was authorized to estab-
lish a Falcon Authorized Line
Service Station at Chhatrapati
Shivaji International Airport in
Mumbai.
The facility provides sched-
uled and unscheduled mainte-
nance and inspections for Fal-
con2000and2000DX/EX/LX
aircraft and serves as a base for
spare parts inventory.
Earlier, Dassault Falcon had
named Mumbai-based Air
WorksIndiaanAuthorizedSer-
vice Center for the Falcon
900EX and established spares
distribution centers in Chennai
and Mumbai.
The company also set up a
technicalfieldofficeinMumbai.
These measures were the latest
steps taken recently to enhance
the Falcon support network in
southernAsia,mirroringastrat-
egy Dassault Falcon has been
pursuing in other major emerg-
ing markets, such as China,
Russia and Brazil.

The RIAT gathers military aircraft and
military display teams from all over

■ The Royal Air Forces largest Airshow is
held Annually at RAF Waddington RAF
Waddington, United Kingdom known
as the RAF Waddington International
Airshow. The airshow features par-
ticipants from across the World and
showcases the work of the RAF Royal
Air Force and its allies.
■ Europe’s largest free annual airshow
is the Bournemouth Air Festival held
on the Bournemouth seafront. It
takes place over the course of four
days each August and attracted
around 1,300,000 spectators last
year.
■ Airbourne: Eastbourne International
Airshow is the world’s biggest free

■ The annual EAA AirVenture Oshkosh
air show (Oshkosh, Wisconsin), or-
ganized by the Experimental Aircraft
Association, is famous for its crowded
fly-in of visitors. The air show includes
multiple displays as well as talks by
influential people in aviation.
■ The annual Sun ‘n Fun air show in
Lakeland, Florida, is an independent
corporation, famous for its crowded
fly-in of visitors held usually during the
second or third week of April.
■ The Reno Air Races, also known as
the National Championship Air Races,
take place annually in September at
the Reno Stead Airport a few miles
north of Reno, Nevada. Includes
several days of qualifying followed by
four and a half days of multi-aircraft
heat racing culminating in the Un-
limited Class Gold Race on Sunday
afternoon. The event also features
civil airshow acts and military flight
demonstrations between races, plus
vendor areas and a large civil and
military static aircraft display.
■ The closest European equivalent to
Oshkosh is Tannkosh, held annually
at Tannheim airfield in Germany.
■ The Southport Airshow is the largest
airshow in the North West of England.
■ The Aerosport airshow, created in
1993 in Igualada, is the only Spanish
airshow dedicated to corporate and
sport aircraft.
■ There are several annual air shows
in the United States that display a
variety of modern military aircraft,
including the Miramar Airshow every
October, and Aviation Nation at Nellis
AFB every November.
■ The Largest Warbird airshow is held
by the Commemorative Air Force at
its annual CAF Airsho in Midland, TX
each October.
■ Two large air and aerospace trade
shows are the Paris Air Show (Le
Bourget Air Show) in France, held in
June on odd-numbered years, and the
British Farnborough Airshow held in
July on even-numbered years.
■ Dubai Air Show has been held since
1989 each November on odd-

■ Asian Aerospace has been held in
Singapore since its inception in 1981,
until moving to Hong Kong in 2007.
The Singapore event was rebranded
as the Singapore Airshow in 2008,
and is held in February on even-

the dispute between Asian Aerospace
organisers.
■ The Langkawi International Maritime
and Air Show since 1991, is held at
Langkawi Island, Malaysia on odd-
numbered years.
■ A Douglas C-54 Skymaster, called
Spirit of Freedom, currently operated
as a flying museum regarding the
Berlin Airlift, at a Lancaster, Ohio air
show.
■ The biggest air show and aerospace
trade show in Russia is MAKS, held at
Zhukovskiy in August.
■ The world’s oldest air show is the
Internationale Luft- und Raumfahr-
tausstellung (ILA) (Berlin Air Show), in
Germany, going back to 1909.
■ The only air show in West Africa is
held in Ghana each year (light avia-
tion) in November hosted by WAASPS
■ China International Aviation & Aero-
space Exhibition.
■ Australian International Airshow is
held every two years at Avalon Airport.
■ Warbirds Over Wanaka a military ori-
ented show is held every two years in
Wanaka, New Zealand
■ Latin American best air show, since
1980, is held at Santiago, Chile.

India 2013 at the Air Force Station Yela-

ily of commercial jets up to 120 seats in
the global market (E170, E175, E190 and

entry-level Phenom 100 to the ultra-

Border Security Force (BSF) for the
transportation of VIPS and foreign dig-
nitaries. In addition, Embraer Defense
and Security has collaborated with In-
dia’s Defense Research & Development
Organisation (DRDO) to create three
bespoke EMB145 jet platforms for use
as Airborne Early Warning and Control
(AEW&C) aircraft, two of which were
