 An embedded system is a microprocessor
based system.
 It is a combination of computer hardware as
well as software either fixed in capability or
programming that is specially designed for a
particular function.
 Something embed into a system (large
system).

fridge etc.

 It is a CPU like computers, which contains no
RAM, no ROM and no I/O ports on the chip
itself.
 They all are connected externally.
 The power consumption is about 220v and size is
also small with high clock speed.
Microcontroller
 It is a single chip IC (integrated circuit) consist
internally memory like RAM, ROM and I/O
ports.
