1.0 Objective
This procedure describes the consultation process between faculty and
student which aims to assist and guide the latter in his/her academic concerns.
2.0 Scope
This procedure covers the consultation hour between the faculty and
students.
3.0 Definition of Term
3.1 Faculty / Student Consultation Program – a service-oriented activity where
the faculty meets with students to discuss academic and non-academic
concerns purposely to help the student to achieve a better performance
in class.

5.0 Responsibility and Authority
5.1 The Academic Head/Dean is the person who monitors the faculty-student
consultation program.
5.2 The Instructors - shall plan and implement the consultation period with
his/her students.
6.0 Procedure
6.1 Preparatory Activities
6.1.1 The Instructors submits their consultation hours to their Dean or Level
Heads or Committee Chair.
6.1.2 The Academic Head/Dean shall approve the consultation
schedule prior to implementation.
6.1.3 The approved consultation schedule is posted for implementation.

6.2 Consultation Process
6.2.1 The Instructors meet the students for consultation as scheduled.
6.2.2 The Instructor helps the student to resolve the concerns by giving
proper advice on the following:
(1) Academic deficiencies;
(2) Academic requirements;
(3) Remedial assistance; and
(4) Counseling purposes
6.3 Monitoring and Recording
6.3.1 The Instructor and the student signs in the Consultation Logbook for
monitoring and recording purposes.
