1. Desjoyaux in Baghdad
Desjoyaux (CEO Jean-Louis Desjoyaux, La Fouillouse) takes to the export market like a
duck to water. The in-ground swimming pool manufacturer is building a complex of three
sunken pools in Baghdad, Iraq. The waterpark will have 700 m2
of pools. An innovative
project which demonstrates the Loire-based pool manufacturer’s determination to generate
half its turnover from international business.
With the opening of new agencies abroad, most recently in Cadiz, Desjoyaux now boasts the
world’s most extensive in-ground swimming pool construction network with 160 dealers in
France and a sales presence in 80 countries.
Overall, the number of pools sold by Desjoyaux is continuing to grow, by 10% a year, in a
market that has been riding a wave of growth for two years. After its turnover increased by
20% to 82 million euros last year, Desjoyaux now aims to generate a turnover of 100 million
euros in this financial year. It will do this by capitalising on two major innovations: pipeless
filtration and permanent active formwork.
