1. I used a live photograph from the artist Ellie Goulding. This attracts the audience as they want to see pictures of their favourite artists. A lot of music magazines do this to gain exclusives, therefore, they get value for money. This makes this particular story stand out and the fact that it is ‘new album tracks’ makes the audience think that they could be the first to find out about them. By using bands that my target audience would recognise it attracts the audience as they want to find out news and gossip about their favourite bands. The variety of bands they can read about also shows they can get all their favourite in one place. I advertised a competition to win tickets to the very popular festival, Glastonbury. This would excite people into thinking they have a chance of winning very sought after tickets.

2. I think that the quote from one of the bands in an article grabs the reader’s attention as they want to know who said it and why they said it. The month of the magazine is clearly shown. The use of a picture gives an insight of is possibly inside the magazine and it helps to brighten the contents page. Furthermore the page numbers are clearly written and easy to read, therefore this attracts the reader.
