2. is a multi-faceted outreach initiative geared to reaching Men who have Sex with Men (MSM). The goal of Project FIERCE is to educate and provide sexual health resources for all MSM in Northern Indiana.
3. The Problem South Bend is the “Cross Roads” of major metropolitan areas. We serve both Rural and Urban needs in Six Counties. Rural MSM are hard to reach.
4. Theory Empowering MSM with the tools for self risk assessment will slow the spread of HIV/STDs within Social and Sexual networks.
5. What we learn in school… Puberty education is just a “pluming lesson” Most often does not include sexual orientation. Sexual Orientation is assumed to be Heterosexual.

12. If you knew then what you know now! Session V Sexual and Reproductive Health. Factual Information. Self Risk Assessment. HIV, Syphilis Testing.
14. What we see with “Self Risk Assessment” Ability to identify risk without feeling “judged”. Empowers MSM to take control in their sexual health. Created recidivism in testing services. Creates a connection with ASO/NPO and GLBTI community.
15. After the Class Pros Cons Currently conducting assessments with MSM who have attended the class. Seeing a greater knowledge of HIV/STD Prevention within group. Greater use of “Protective Measures.” Higher testing Recidivism. Hard to reach MSM to get them to attend. Knowledge is staying with in Social and Sexual Networks of those who attend.
