Here is the latest on ESG from United States Steel Corporation
U. S. Steel launched an electrical steel product, InduX, that will begin production at the company’s Big
River Steel plant this summer. The product will help the company meet the rising demand for electric
vehicles and more efficient motors.
The Big River Steel facility also produces verdeX, U. S. Steel’s line of green steel. It is manufactured with
up to 80 percent fewer emissions than traditional, integrated-mill steel and has a recycled content of up to
90 percent.
The Big River Steel mills received the first ResponsibleSteel site certification for a North American steel
facility.
The company surpassed by approximately 130 percent a $300 million spending goal on diverse suppliers.
