How can you improve GAP analysis?
Training and Learning Development options
4. What is GAP Analysis
GAP analysis is when companies provide analysis in terms of how they will bring
actual back to the original budget.
GAP Analysis has been around for many years. GAP Analysis is playing a bigger role as
businesses continue to respond to changes in market conditions
The problem is the approved budget was based on assumptions at the time it was
prepared. Market conditions can change as such government and businesses need to
adjust to market conditions in terms of actionable items
5. What can be done to help provide Gap
analysis
Moving away from Microsoft Excel
Excel has limitations when it comes to working indices and variables
Adopting tools that provide more analysis, i.e. predictable analytics, data sciences
and real time reporting
Supply Chain Headcount Planning
6. Working with Indices and Industry Trends
as part of GAP Analysis
• Working with macro and micro indicators
• Government Stats
• Industry Trends
• Commodity indices
• Currency Indices
• Stock Market indices
• CPI indices
• Environmental indices
• Political and Geo Risk Indices
• Bank other private sector analysis
7. Using Scenario planning
More and more businesses need to move to scenario planning as part of the close,
consolidate and reporting cycle
