4. Task 3 – P5
• To achieve P5 you need to choose a sport and
two of the four levels of sports performance.
• Once you have chosen your two focus levels you
need to then write a presentation for a coach of
these levels. The presentation needs to include
an explanation of the purpose and resources
needed to effectively analyse performance.
– E.g. Coach – foundation netball.
– E.g. Coach – elite netball.
5. Task 3 Timeline
• This is a one criteria task.
• The published deadline is 14.11.14 which is
this Friday. However due to Task 2 extensions I
have extended this by one week to Friday
21.11.14.
• We start our next unit on Monday 24.11.14.

6. Preparing For A Successful
REACH Week 1:1
17-21 November 2014
7. REACH Week 1 (17-21 November)
The 5 Habit, Mindset and Skill Student Priorities
8. REACH Priority What to do to prepare for your 1:1
Self-assessment (1) Consider your effort and commitment since September to your two REACH
Learning Targets? How much have you focused on them? Are you working hard
enough?
(2) How does your Assessment Week 1 grade compare to your REACH grade?
Are you on progress to meet your potential?
Listen attentively (3) Your teacher will have feedback for you. Listen carefully and make notes to
record the guidance given.
Learn from criticism (4) We all make mistakes and suffer setbacks, it is important to recognise where
we go wrong so as not to make the same mistake twice.
Ask a question (5) Prepare for your 1:1 by reviewing your progress and course files.
(6) Before your 1:1 write at least two questions to ask your teacher about any
aspect you are unsure of.
(7) Also ask at least one extra question based on the feedback or criticism you
receive during your 1:1
Set targets / goals During your 1:1 you and your teacher will agree two personalised REACH
Learning Targets specific to your needs. These will be in place until REACH Week
2 (January 2015).
(8) Before your 1:1 you should use the REACH mind map and your self-assessment
(1 and 2 above) to draft two SMART REACH Learning Targets for
discussion at your 1:1. The video on the next slide will help you prepare for this.
Editor's Notes
Teachers should introduce the importance of REACH week 1 and remind students of the two common learning targets that have been in place since September. Teacher should outline the structure of the week and identify when students will be able to book their 1:1 appointment.
This introductory slide should be used to highlight the five REACH priorities that REACH week 1:1 meetings support.
Teacher should reinforce the key habits, mindset and skills of REACH (Proactive, Practice, Growth Mindset, Attention and Fearless) and remind students of the resources online (www.reachprogramme.org) and on Twitter (@reachprogramme).
The five priorities that students need to prepare for ahead of the 1:1 are circled in red. The next slide outlines how students should prepare these five key areas.
This slide outlines how students should prepare the five REACH Week 1:1 priorities.
Teachers should go through each area in turn and take questions from students to ensure they understand each of the priority areas.
Students should be reminded about the knowledge and skills they have developed since September as part of the ‘ask a question’ area.
The short video on the next slide supports number 8.
