Tupac (Makaveli) vs. Niccolo Machiavelli Humanism is an outlook or system of thought attaching
prime importance to human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the
potential value and goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely
rational ways of solving human problems. Niccolo Machiavelli was a 16th century political
philosopher, poet, playwright and historian during the renaissance period. He wrote "The Prince"
which was a political book about monarchal and survival. One of the purposes of the book was to
give advice to new tyrants and others who wanted to gain and maintain power. One of the things that
he discusses is skill and luck or virtú. He mentions in chapter six that "a prudent man will always try
to follow in the footsteps of great men and imitate those who have been truly outstanding, so that if
he is not skillful as they, at least some of their ability may rub off on him". I can only imagine Tupac
