Embedded antennas are antennas that are embedded in a dielectric material with a dielectric constant greater than 1. This embedding allows the antenna size to be decreased for use in small devices like mobile phones, while maintaining resonance at the desired frequency. Common examples include 4-patch antennas and dielectric-conductor-dielectric sandwiches. Embedded antennas provide advantages like reduced size, customizable design, protection from environmental factors, durability, and good signal clarity. They are used in applications like Bluetooth and GSM modules.

3. *What is embedded Antenna?*
• As the name suggests, it is an antenna which is embedded. Antenna, we all know. It
is a metallic conductor which is used to send and receive signals.
• Embed means fix an object deeply in a surrounding mass. In our case it is antenna for
object and dielectric for mass. Lets go for a more formal definition.
4. *Definition*
• An embedded antenna is nothing but a metallic conductor
embedded in a dielectric material whose dielectric constant is
greater than 1.
5. *Role of dielectric material*
• Consider an example of a half-wave dipole antenna.
• It resonates at a particular frequency.
• The main purpose of embedded antenna is to use it in mobile phones and other small
chips.
• In order to achieve this, antenna size must be decreased.
• When this is done, the resonant frequency changes due to change in it’s length which
is not desirable.
• That is why we use dielectric material as it provides us a flexibility of varying the
antenna length without compromising on the frequency.
10. *Advantages of Embedded Antenna*
• Reduction is size.
• Flexible design i.e., customizable.
• Protection against environment changes.
• Durable and Reliable
• These antennas have very good clarity.
As the name suggests, it is an antenna which is embedded. Antenna, we all know. It is a metallic conductor which is used to send and receive signals. And embed means…
Embed means fix an object deeply in a surrounding mass. In our case it is antenna for object and dielectric for mass. Lets go for a more formal definition.
Please notice the last part of the sentence. It must be greater than 1/
