2. DIPOLE ANTENNA
A dipole antenna is a linear metallic wire or rod
with a feed point at the center.
A dipole antenna has two symmetrical radiating
arms.
3. DIPOLE IN CONDUCTING AND
DIELECTRIC MEDIUM
Dipole antenna can’t work in any conducting
medium because electromagnetic waves can’t
propagate through it.
Generally antenna works in free space.
For the case of any other dielectric medium some
parameters will get changed due to the different
values of relative permittivity and relative
permeability.
6. PARAMETERS
We have taken operating frequency 600MHz. And
calculated the followings parameters,
Wavelength = 0.5m
Dimension = 0.25 m
Directivity = 1.643 (2.15dB)
Maximum effective aperture = 0.0327m
Effective length of the antenna = 0.159m
8. CONCLUSION
Half wavelength dipole antennas are most commonly
used because the radiation resistance of half wavelength
dipole antenna is 73Ω which is very closer to the 75Ω
which is the characteristics impedance of some
transmission lines.
