3. Descriptive text is a kind of text
which describes particular thing,
animal, person, or others. For
example: our pets or a person thet
is known well.

2. The generic structure of Descriptive text
Generic structure are the special characteristic of
language in the text. The generic structure of
descriptive text are as follow:
 Identification/ Identifikasi
Introduces or identifies the character to be
described, it can be called general description of
the subject. Usually it contains object’s name, kind
of the object, etc.
 Description/ Deskripsi
Describes parts and characteristics of the person or
something that will be described in detail, so the
reades can get clear description of the subject.

My Family
My name Via, I have abig family(Identification).
My father was born in Boyolali, and my mother is from
Surabaya. There are eight children in my family, seven sons
and me. I have two married brothers, and each brother has a
daughter. My oldest brother is a civil engineer, and my other
brother is an agronomy engineer. Also, I have two brothers
studying in a technical college in Bandung. My two younger
brothers are studying in high school in
Semarang(Description).
