hahnemann classification of diseases , aphorisms , sporadic , epidemic , endemic , pandemic , indisposition , acute disease , chronic disease , miasms , psora , sychosis , syphilis , one sided diseases , loacl diseases , brief description are entitled and discussed in this presentation
this presentation may fit the requirement of every homeopath.
2. According to hahnemann, disease is primarily a process of
altered life manifesting itself through perceptible
symptoms, altered sensations and functions.
3.
4. Indisposition is a category of illness due to some
exciting cause. The common exciting causes may be
continuous exposure to strong odours, presence of
foreign bodies, improper hygiene, poor sanitation,
living in a damp or ill ventilated house, irregular or
improper diet or lack of exercise. Such causative
factors may bring a feeling of un wellness in individuals
and thereby one may not be comfortable to attend
daily work. (Apho:150)
7. Acute diseases are the result of rapid morbid process of the
deranged vital force. Their onset is sudden, have definite
course and quick expression of action . They terminate
within a short time either with complete recovery or with
death of the patient. Acute diseases can again be classified
into three groups.
(Apho: 72)
(Apho: 73)
8. INDIVIDUAL DISEASES
• The acute diseases atracking human beings
individually, in reality, are generally only a
transient explosion of latent psora.
• The exciting causes of this type are excess of
food, insufficient supply of food, chills,
overheating, dissipations.
11. Here many persons are attacked with very similar sufferings
from the same cause. These diseases usually become
infectious when they prevail among thickly populated
regions. Poor sanitation at large gathering like fairs, wars and
natural calamities like earthquakes and famines, calamities
of war, floods excite them. Some examples are typhoid,
cholera, Mumps, Measles.
EPIDEMIC DISEASES
13. Chronic diseases have a gradual onset; slow progress, derange
the living organism in their own peculiar manner resulting in
gradual deviation of health. There may be unlimited life long
suffering with further derangement till the living organism is
fully destroyed. The chronic diseases are caused by the chronic
miasms Psora, Syphilis and Sycosis.
Chronic Diseases are further classified in to diseases with fully
developed symptoms and diseases with few developed
symptoms
CHRONIC DISEASES
14. Diseases with fully developed symptoms
Occupational diseases are usually defined as diseases arising out of or
in the course of employment.
Occupational cancers:
Cancer of skin, lungs, bladder
Ex:
Non miasmatic diseases:
15.
16. • Drug diseases: Diseases produced due to prolonged use of
active drugs in large doses(allopathic treatment)
• Here vital force is weakened or abnormally dearranged.
(Apho: 74-76)
• These are most incurable
• These are curable only when vital force is sufficiently
powerful enough to be repaired.
17. Diseases inappropriately named chronic
These diseases occur in patients who expose themselves
continually to avoidable noxious influences; in habit of
indulging injurious liquors; reside in unhealthy localties;
etc… ..
(Apho:77)
18. Miasmatic diseases :
Divided into single miasmatic diseases and compound
miasmatic diseases.
Single:
Psora
Sycosis
Syphilis
Compound :
Psoro-sycotic
Psoro-syphilitic
Syco-syphilitic
Psoro-syco-syphilitic
19. DISEASES WITH FEW DEVELOPED SYMPTOMS
• Onesided diseases
• Local diseases
20. Onesided diseases : (Apho-172-184)
• Diseases with only physical symptoms like headache,
diarrhea.
• Diseases with only mental symptoms like insanity, mania.
21. Treatment of one-sided diseases with only physical
symptoms include finding the striking, peculair, uncommon
symptoms which lead to totality.
This helps in making the selection of most similar antipsoric
remedy possible.
If the selected remedy is partially suitable, it produces
accessory symptoms, thus forming totality again which include
old symptoms and accesory symptoms and more suitable
remedy is selected.
23. Hahnemann considers mental diseases as one sided diseases of
chronic type effecting the whole psycho somatic entity.
They are of psoric origin.
They are of four types…
• Somato-psychic type of ment diseases.
• Acute type of mental diseases
• Mental diseases of doubtful origin
• Emotional diseases(Psycho-somatic type)
25. LOCAL DISEASES : (Apho:185-203)
These are a type of one sided diseases in which changes and
ailments appear locally on the external parts of the body.
Two types: Local diseases due to internal cause.
Local diseases due to external causes.
26. Treatment of Local diseases due to external causes include
surgical aid along with internal homoeopathic treatment.
Treatment of local diseases due to internal cause include
noting of exact character of local effection, selection of
medicine peculair to it.
In case of acute local effections, internal medicine like
those of aconite, belladona, rhustox should be given along
with good diet and regimen.
Subsequent,antipsoric treatment is also given.
