Abstract
Information Processing Theory
The information processing theory is a group of theoretical frame works that address how the human
beings receive, think about, mentally, modify and remember information and how such cognitive
processes change over the course of development. (Child development pg.186) Information
processing theory emerged in the late 1950s and early 1960s and has continued to evolve in the
decades that have followed. (Child development pg.186)
The five key components in the information process theory are sensation, perception, sensory
register, working memory, and long–term memory.
Sensation is the physiological...show more content...
Then the information goes to working memory, which allows that active information to stay around
for a few seconds. After that, in–depth processing begins making connections between new
information and existing knowledge through rehearsal, organization, and elaboration. Last is the
long–term memory which now stores the information for retrieval at a later day and time. Input from
the environment is what keeps information going in the model.
As a child grows, the child's information becomes more complex, the distractions start to decrease
and the attention span becomes longer. Children begin to process more and more and faster.
The information process theory is used by researchers to study cognitive development in children.
They have focused on areas such as the gradual improvements in children's ability to take in
information and focus selectively on certain parts of it and their increase attention spans and
capacity for memory storage. (Ken R. Wells, healthofchildren.com)
Infants–two years old
As babies come into the world, they learn to use their senses to explore the world around them.
Most newborns focus on and follow objects. Babies also see all colors, then they start recognizing
faces and they also start imitating facial expressions of others. My four month old baby did see the
different objects and tried to reach out to them. When he sees something new, he will touch it and
then try to put it in his mouth. Or when he

ACC 476/726 – Auditing Discussion Case Questions Fall 2004 General Information The audit
discussion cases are real–world examples of problems that auditors face in practice. Each individual
case is brief, and every member of the class should read the case prior to class and come prepared
to participate in class discussion. Instead of the questions in the casebook, we will discuss specific
issues related to the topic currently being discussed in class. The questions can usually be answered
using your own opinions and the case information. The issues to be discussed for the cases follow.

auditor–client relations. The SEC has...show more content...

2004 Tuesday, September 21, 2004 Background: Auditors have historically been more concerned
with overstatements than understatements of earnings. However, recent SEC rulings suggest that
auditors need to also be concerned about understatements of earnings, particularly when they are
used to manipulate earnings in future periods. Actors: Oak Industries CEO, CFO, and controller
(Group 4 – Trine Juliussen, Sang Uk Jung, Laura Platler) 1. Some people would argue that creating
"rainy day" funds is just conservative accounting. Why should investors and the SEC care about
understatements of earnings? 2. Why did Oak Industries intentionally understate earnings? What
other factors might motivate firms to understate their earnings? 3. Auditors have generally been
more concerned about overstatements of earnings than understatements. Auditors have also normally
only been concerned when those overstatements exceeded certain materiality limits, such as 5% of
net income. Has this responsibility increased to

Essay about Information about Financial Aid
Financial Aid
Financial aid is money in the form of loans, grants and employment that is available to a student to
help pay the cost of attending. Financial aid comes from the federal government, which is the
largest provider of aid, as well as state government, the school and a variety of other public and
private sources.
If you think your educational expenses are more than you and your family can afford, you should
apply for financial aid using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You will need
to apply for financial aid every year by completing a FAFSA. The FAFSA includes all the
information necessary to determine your eligibility and must be completed if you want to be
considered for any of the federal programs...show more content...
Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG) – This grant is available only to
undergraduates having the greatest financial need. Awarded on a first–come first–served basis by the
Office of Financial Aid until all federally allocated funds are awarded.
Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant (OTAG)– OTAG is available to Oklahoma residents. Awards are made
by the Oklahoma State Regents based on the information provided on the FAFSA. Recipients will
receive an award notification from the Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant Program. Early application,
prior to April 15th is requested. For more information, please call the OTAG program directly at
405–234–4356.
LOANS – borrowed money that has to be paid back over a period of time, after the student ceases
to be less than a halftime student. Loans offered at:
Subsidized Stafford Loan – (Formerly Guaranteed Student Loan) Federal Stafford Loan funds are
borrowed from a lending institution (e.g., a bank or credit union). Eligibility for this low interest
loan is based on financial need. Students must be enrolled at least halftime to receive a loan. The
borrower should check with the organization that holds the loan for the interest rate. Repayment
begins six months after enrollment drops below half time. The federal government pays the interest
on this subsidized loan while the student is in school or in deferment.

Essay On San Diego
With its year–round tropical climate, San Diego, California, is one of the most popular vacation
spots for tourists around the globe. From sailing and hiking to surfing and skiing, the city offers a
plethora of activities. What's more is that San Diego is a hop, skip and a jump away from
Tijuana–an exciting alternative to California living. Seaport Village is home to several luxury
yachts as well as a wide variety of charter services. Spend a day at sea whale watching or just kick
back and enjoy San Diego's beautiful coastline. Head to what is considered North County and pay a
visit to the Del Mar Fairgrounds. From mid–July to early September, the fairgrounds are converted
into the legendary Del Mar Racetrack. The horse racing venue once served as a stomping ground

It has earned this reputation for good reason as its coastline offers some of California's best natural
beaches. There are plenty of beach communities that seem to cater to every stereotype out there. First
off, there is the overcrowded (but fabulous) Pacific Beach, which offers party–goers a wide variety
of hot spots all within walking distance from each other. Travel a little south and you will hit
Mission Beach, which offers all the perks of P.B. with the added luxury of Belmont Park. Keep
heading south and you will end up in Ocean Beach, a small community filled with vintage shops,
dive bars, and some wonderful undiscovered little cafes and restaurants. San Diego Bay is yet
another popular destination, known mainly for its ample water–sports. And with neighboring
mountain ranges in close proximity, San Diego is ideal for avid skiers and snowboarders alike.
The kiddos will enjoy the famous San Diego Zoo, Wildlife Park, and Legoland. And adults will find
a playground of their own as the county also offers several Indian gaming sites, casinos and luxury

Essay My Thoughts on Writing
My Thoughts on Writing
The only thing I care about; the only thing I hope to get from this course, is some improvement in
my ability to write what I think –– explain ideas and feelings to other people. I don't give a damn
about anything else, and so far I haven't been disappointed. At the beginning of the course I was
informed that we were going to be discussing exposition, which isn't so much a kind of writing as a
purpose or attitude behind it. This purpose is to explore, unfold, or develop an idea or issue. And the
sense I've gotten from our discussion is that the attitude is one of intellectual honesty, of dedication
to learning something and reporting what's there , instead of protecting preconceived notions or
projecting agendas...show more content...
A friend of mine has already graduated from a university, and she recently went through a whole
crate of papers she wrote in the process. She told me she couldn't remember what many of them
were about; couldn't even remember writing most of them. We've talked about "themewriting"as
something written for and from a closed environment: a mini–universe apart from everyday life, with
its own abbreviated rules, in which oversimplification is acceptable. When I consider the sheer
tonnage of the stuff that's written every midquarter and finals week around here, it sure seems that
most of it is intended to, deserves to, and does head right for the wastebasket immediately when it's
of no further use in that universe: after it's recorded in the grade book. "Commitment" is a term
applied to solid exposition, and themewriting frequently lacks it.
Does anyone like to do this –– does it provide a warm, human, joyous feeling of having made
contact and saying something Important? Or do we just get comfortable doing it? Like being an
accountant: is there a real sense of joy to be found in adding up columns of figures? There may be
some people who would tell me "sure, it's fun," but I think actually they're just feeling safe in a sort
of half–sleep state which isn't exactly happy and may in fact be miserable, but at least is stable.
There may be a different kind of warmth, reserved for "a job well done," and "I might get a
promotion," and most especially: "I feel good

Information and Knowledge Essay
Information and Knowledge
In this modern era of information and communication, someone's status in the world often depends
on what that person knows. We, as humans, often think that what we believe is truth and stored in
our brains as knowledge. I tell you however that just because you have a belief in something doesn't
always make is knowledge and definitely not truth. For example, I could believe that President
Clinton will be assassinated before he leaves office later this year. That does not mean that I have
knowledge of this event; it was just a lucky guess (if it came to be). An ancient greek philosopher I
am sure you are all familiar with, Socrates, once stated that true belief has to have "an account" or a
justification...show more content...
No one can say that you are not in pain, the belief of the pain is in the first person and not reliant
of external data or justification. Anything that does not fall into this category is a belief justified
by something outside the first person or yourself. Beliefs about the external world need
justification. The easiest way to explain this theory is to put it in a dialogue or "dialectic" form.
Like a conversation between two people where one person proposes an idea or theory and the other
person tries to reinforce or find fault in the other persons reasoning. For simplicity's sake let's say
that I had the following dialogue with Joe, the guy with the dog on the mat.
Joe: Hey Craig, my dog is on the mat. I see that my dog is lying on the mat. And sensing any
physical object through one or more of my five senses has to guarantee that the object is in fact
there in the real physical world.
Craig: Wait a minute Joe, just because you are having sense data of the dog does not mean the dog
exists in the real world. Let me explain, what you are seeing is a mental (electrical) representation
of a dog on a mat. In your dreams you see, touch, taste, smell, and hear things. Are they real? I don't
think so. I cannot doubt that you are having the sensory data, that is a self–justified belief. I can
think of another possible scenario of you seeing the dog on the mat. You are actually dreaming, all
this is empty space. Your belief cannot be justified

Information System Essay
1. Introduction
It is generally accepted that information is a vital commodity for the successful operation of today's
organizations. Nowadays modern business organizations are using computerized information
systems in order to obtain such information. However as the technology advances rapidly the main
issue is how can an organization should effectively use such an information system – which its
management sometimes can be unpredictable – in order to effectively help the whole organization
structure to improve and take the most out of it.
This report will try to analyze intranet and its impact on the use of information in organizations, as
well as what actions an organization might take to make the most effective use of it.
2. What is...show more content...
Server software: Today's Web servers come with a variety of servers ranging from HTML editors in
search engines to application servers.
Client Software: Two main browsers here. Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Site Management Software: Web site management includes such things as uploading HTMLfiles,
showing a graphical view of a site, checking for bad links, etc.
Application development tools: The tools listed under this category have much in common with the
site management tools. Both edit HMTL and upload files to the server. The tools have built in
support, usually drag and drop, for scripting.
Application servers: These servers use special tags within an HTML file to direct processing. They
also can have hooks to call external programs to handle processing that is not built into the server,
and they also separate developer and server portions into separate packages.
Implementation approaches: Such as ASP, CGI, Java, Application servers.
4. Intranet architecture
There are several ways to build up an intranet. However some common characteristics of an intranet's
architecture, in order for organizations to gain the more out of it, are:
Integrating information design with business planning
Intranets should help employees to collaborate on business processes, such as product development
or order fulfillment, which create value for a company and its customers. Successful intranets allow
employees from a variety of

Essay about Germany
Germany is the fourth largest country in area in
Europe, with a total area of 356,970 square
kilometers (137,827 square miles). The country has
a varied terrain that ranges from low–lying coastal
flats along the North and Baltic seas, to a central
area of rolling hills and river valleys, to heavily
forested mountains and snow–covered Alps in the
south. Germany has a long, complex history and rich
culture, but it did not become a unified nation until
1871. Before that time, Germany had been a
confederacy (1815–1867).
The country has a total of 82,071,765 people (1997
estimate). Germany is overwhelmingly urban, and
most people lead a prosperous, comfortable lifestyle,

Stretching from the Baltic and North seas to the Alps,
Germany measures about 800 kilometers (about 500
miles) from north to south; the country extends about
600 km (about 400 miles) from west to east. In
addition to coastline and mountains, the varied
terrain includes forests, hills, plains, and river valleys.
Several navigable rivers traverse the uplands, and
canals connect the river systems of the Elbe, Rhine,
and Danube rivers and link the North Sea with the
Baltic.
Germany has a mostly moderate climate,
characterized by cool winters and warm summers.
River valleys, such the Rhine, tend to be humid and
somewhat warmer in both winter and summer,
whereas mountain areas can be much colder.
Precipitation on the average is much heavier in the
south, especially along the Alpine slopes, which force
incoming weather fronts to rise and let off moisture in
the form of rain and snow.
Germany does not have large pockets of poverty or
great economic disparity. Crime levels are
substantially lower than those in the United States,
and the possession of guns is controlled. However,
there are substantial numbers of homeless people
and problems of violence, alcoholism, and drug
abuse. Nonviolent crimes, such as theft and burglary
in urban areas, have increased since the 1970s.
They occur often enough to make law and order a

Essay about Information Is Power
Many people say that money is the ultimate motivator, that money will drive anyone to do anything
for the right price. However, who is to say that there isn't a power greater than that? Information,
which is interchangeable with knowledge, is the true driving force behind almost all of the events
that happen in the world, both fictional and real. Without the knowledge of wealth to be gained there
is no driving force behind money. In the story, The Pardoner's Tale, the trio of men never had a clue
of the wealth they could obtain until someone, namely Death, informed them of it. In Paradise Lost
the information that Satan provides Eve of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil drives Eve to
made a decision that leads to the fall of Man. Even...show more content...
This, in my opinion, is the true driving force behind story, The Pardoner's Tale. In the epic poem,
Paradise Lost, Satan gathers information about Adam and Eve and eventually formulates a plan to
bring about the downfall of Man. Satan enters into the body of a serpent and waits until Eve is
alone. When she finally leaves Adam's side Satan makes his move, by approaching her and
telling her of all the good things that the fruit that came from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and
Evil, such as him being able to talk. Satan knows that Eve is the weaker willed of the two and
begins to flatter her as well as inform her that an apple has given him the ability to speak. Satan
then leads Eve to the tree in which she shies away from knowing that God has forbidden her and
Adam from eating from it. Satan, however, does not back down and continues to pressure her into
eating the fruit, stating that, "Look on me, me who have touched and tasted, yet both live, and life
more perfect have attained than fate meant me, by vent'ring higher than my lot (Lines 684–690)."
This twisted information pushes Eve past the point of no return and she takes an apple and bites
into it, after which, "Earth felt the wound, and nature from her seat sighing through all her works
gave signs of woe, that all was lost (Lines 782–784)," as the fall of Man becomes complete. Satan
through twisted information and knowing what to say and when to say it bring

Information Technology Essay
Information technology is a rapidly growing part of today's society. It affects everyone's life in many
aspects. Every human endeavor is influenced by information technology and the increasing rate at
which what it can perform includes. One area of human endeavor that information technology has
greatly influenced is the practice of medicine, specifically veterinary medicine. Not only has
veterinary medicine been influenced by information technology, it has also been enhanced by it. The
degree to which the practice of veterinary medicine includes information technology is observable at
the Animal Emergency Clinic of Central New York on Erie Blvd. in Syracuse, New York.

Working, volunteering and interning are all acceptable ways to gain experience in the field of
veterinary medicine. The reason behind schools requiring experience is to ensure that the student
knows what they are getting into before they spend thousands of dollars (approx. $20,000/yr.) and
at least four years of their life in an extremely intensive academic environment. Many people have
an altered idea of what being a vet is about. A lot of physical and emotion endurance is necessary to
be a successful veterinarian. Many people are unaware of that.
The specific undergraduate course requirements to get into a school of veterinary medicine vary
between the schools. All of them are science intensive. Most require a well–rounded education. The
University of California at Davis school of veterinary medicine requires one year of general
biology, one year of general chemistry, one year of organic chemistry, and one year of physics as
far as lower division requirements. Upper division requirements include a semester of
biochemistry, a semester of systemic physiology, a semester of vertebrate embryology, and a
semester of genetics. On top of that they want their applicants to have taken courses in English
composition, humanities, social sciences as well as statistics. Simply taking these courses is not
enough, they need to be completed with a GPA above a 2.5. However, the competition has an
average GPA of 3.45. The

  • 1. Essay about Information Processing Theory Information Processing Theory Selicia Whidbee–Denmon AED202 April 1, 2012 Tracey Morgado Abstract Information Processing Theory The information processing theory is a group of theoretical frame works that address how the human beings receive, think about, mentally, modify and remember information and how such cognitive processes change over the course of development. (Child development pg.186) Information processing theory emerged in the late 1950s and early 1960s and has continued to evolve in the decades that have followed. (Child development pg.186) The five key components in the information process theory are sensation, perception, sensory register, working memory, and long–term memory. Sensation is the physiological...show more content... Then the information goes to working memory, which allows that active information to stay around for a few seconds. After that, in–depth processing begins making connections between new information and existing knowledge through rehearsal, organization, and elaboration. Last is the long–term memory which now stores the information for retrieval at a later day and time. Input from the environment is what keeps information going in the model. As a child grows, the child's information becomes more complex, the distractions start to decrease and the attention span becomes longer. Children begin to process more and more and faster. The information process theory is used by researchers to study cognitive development in children. They have focused on areas such as the gradual improvements in children's ability to take in information and focus selectively on certain parts of it and their increase attention spans and capacity for memory storage. (Ken R. Wells, healthofchildren.com) Infants–two years old As babies come into the world, they learn to use their senses to explore the world around them. Most newborns focus on and follow objects. Babies also see all colors, then they start recognizing faces and they also start imitating facial expressions of others. My four month old baby did see the different objects and tried to reach out to them. When he sees something new, he will touch it and then try to put it in his mouth. • 2. General Information Essay ACC 476/726 – Auditing Discussion Case Questions Fall 2004 General Information The audit discussion cases are real–world examples of problems that auditors face in practice. Each individual case is brief, and every member of the class should read the case prior to class and come prepared to participate in class discussion. Instead of the questions in the casebook, we will discuss specific issues related to the topic currently being discussed in class. The questions can usually be answered using your own opinions and the case information. The issues to be discussed for the cases follow. Berkshire Hathaway – Tuesday, September 7, 2004 Background: The case captures the dynamics of auditor–client relations. The SEC has...show more content... Are there other ways that the situation could have been successfully resolved? 6.Was it appropriate for the firm to promise Walker a good recommendation? Oak Industries – Thursday, September 16, 2004 Tuesday, September 21, 2004 Background: Auditors have historically been more concerned with overstatements than understatements of earnings. However, recent SEC rulings suggest that auditors need to also be concerned about understatements of earnings, particularly when they are used to manipulate earnings in future periods. Actors: Oak Industries CEO, CFO, and controller (Group 4 – Trine Juliussen, Sang Uk Jung, Laura Platler) 1. Some people would argue that creating "rainy day" funds is just conservative accounting. Why should investors and the SEC care about understatements of earnings? 2. Why did Oak Industries intentionally understate earnings? What other factors might motivate firms to understate their earnings? 3. Auditors have generally been more concerned about overstatements of earnings than understatements. Auditors have also normally only been concerned when those overstatements exceeded certain materiality limits, such as 5% of net income. From sailing and hiking to surfing and skiing, the city offers a plethora of activities. What's more is that San Diego is a hop, skip and a jump away from Tijuana–an exciting alternative to California living. • 5. Essay My Thoughts on Writing My Thoughts on Writing The only thing I care about; the only thing I hope to get from this course, is some improvement in my ability to write what I think –– explain ideas and feelings to other people. I don't give a damn about anything else, and so far I haven't been disappointed. At the beginning of the course I was informed that we were going to be discussing exposition, which isn't so much a kind of writing as a purpose or attitude behind it. This purpose is to explore, unfold, or develop an idea or issue. And the sense I've gotten from our discussion is that the attitude is one of intellectual honesty, of dedication to learning something and reporting what's there , instead of protecting preconceived notions or projecting agendas...show more content... A friend of mine has already graduated from a university, and she recently went through a whole crate of papers she wrote in the process. She told me she couldn't remember what many of them were about; couldn't even remember writing most of them. We've talked about "themewriting"as something written for and from a closed environment: a mini–universe apart from everyday life, with its own abbreviated rules, in which oversimplification is acceptable. When I consider the sheer tonnage of the stuff that's written every midquarter and finals week around here, it sure seems that most of it is intended to, deserves to, and does head right for the wastebasket immediately when it's of no further use in that universe: after it's recorded in the grade book. "Commitment" is a term applied to solid exposition, and themewriting frequently lacks it. Does anyone like to do this –– does it provide a warm, human, joyous feeling of having made contact and saying something Important? Or do we just get comfortable doing it? Like being an accountant: is there a real sense of joy to be found in adding up columns of figures? There may be some people who would tell me "sure, it's fun," but I think actually they're just feeling safe in a sort of half–sleep state which isn't exactly happy and may in fact be miserable, but at least is stable. There may be a different kind of warmth, reserved for "a job well done," and "I might get a promotion," and most especially: "I feel good Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Information and Knowledge Essay Information and Knowledge In this modern era of information and communication, someone's status in the world often depends on what that person knows. We, as humans, often think that what we believe is truth and stored in our brains as knowledge. I tell you however that just because you have a belief in something doesn't always make is knowledge and definitely not truth. For example, I could believe that President Clinton will be assassinated before he leaves office later this year. That does not mean that I have knowledge of this event; it was just a lucky guess (if it came to be). An ancient greek philosopher I am sure you are all familiar with, Socrates, once stated that true belief has to have "an account" or a justification...show more content... No one can say that you are not in pain, the belief of the pain is in the first person and not reliant of external data or justification. Anything that does not fall into this category is a belief justified by something outside the first person or yourself. Beliefs about the external world need justification. The easiest way to explain this theory is to put it in a dialogue or "dialectic" form. Like a conversation between two people where one person proposes an idea or theory and the other person tries to reinforce or find fault in the other persons reasoning. For simplicity's sake let's say that I had the following dialogue with Joe, the guy with the dog on the mat. Joe: Hey Craig, my dog is on the mat. I see that my dog is lying on the mat. And sensing any physical object through one or more of my five senses has to guarantee that the object is in fact there in the real physical world. Craig: Wait a minute Joe, just because you are having sense data of the dog does not mean the dog exists in the real world. Let me explain, what you are seeing is a mental (electrical) representation of a dog on a mat. In your dreams you see, touch, taste, smell, and hear things. Are they real? I don't think so. I cannot doubt that you are having the sensory data, that is a self–justified belief. I can think of another possible scenario of you seeing the dog on the mat. You are actually dreaming, all this is empty space. Your belief cannot be justified Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Information System Essay 1. Introduction It is generally accepted that information is a vital commodity for the successful operation of today's organizations. Nowadays modern business organizations are using computerized information systems in order to obtain such information. However as the technology advances rapidly the main issue is how can an organization should effectively use such an information system – which its management sometimes can be unpredictable – in order to effectively help the whole organization structure to improve and take the most out of it. This report will try to analyze intranet and its impact on the use of information in organizations, as well as what actions an organization might take to make the most effective use of it. 2. Both edit HMTL and upload files to the server. The tools have built in support, usually drag and drop, for scripting. Application servers: These servers use special tags within an HTML file to direct processing. They also can have hooks to call external programs to handle processing that is not built into the server, and they also separate developer and server portions into separate packages. Implementation approaches: Such as ASP, CGI, Java, Application servers. 4. Intranet architecture There are several ways to build up an intranet. The country has a varied terrain that ranges from low–lying coastal flats along the North and Baltic seas, to a central area of rolling hills and river valleys, to heavily forested mountains and snow–covered Alps in the south. Germany has a long, complex history and rich culture, but it did not become a unified nation until 1871. Before that time, Germany had been a confederacy (1815–1867). Several navigable rivers traverse the uplands, and canals connect the river systems of the Elbe, Rhine, and Danube rivers and link the North Sea with the Baltic. Germany has a mostly moderate climate, characterized by cool winters and warm summers. River valleys, such the Rhine, tend to be humid and somewhat warmer in both winter and summer, whereas mountain areas can be much colder. Precipitation on the average is much heavier in the south, especially along the Alpine slopes, which force incoming weather fronts to rise and let off moisture in the form of rain and snow. Germany does not have large pockets of poverty or great economic disparity. Crime levels are substantially lower than those in the United States, and the possession of guns is controlled. However, there are substantial numbers of homeless people and problems of violence, alcoholism, and drug abuse. Nonviolent crimes, such as theft and burglary in urban areas, have increased since the 1970s. They occur often enough to make law and order a recurrent

  • 11. Essay about Information Is Power Many people say that money is the ultimate motivator, that money will drive anyone to do anything for the right price. However, who is to say that there isn't a power greater than that? Information, which is interchangeable with knowledge, is the true driving force behind almost all of the events that happen in the world, both fictional and real. Without the knowledge of wealth to be gained there is no driving force behind money. In the story, The Pardoner's Tale, the trio of men never had a clue of the wealth they could obtain until someone, namely Death, informed them of it. In Paradise Lost the information that Satan provides Eve of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil drives Eve to made a decision that leads to the fall of Man. Even...show more content... This, in my opinion, is the true driving force behind story, The Pardoner's Tale. In the epic poem, Paradise Lost, Satan gathers information about Adam and Eve and eventually formulates a plan to bring about the downfall of Man. Satan enters into the body of a serpent and waits until Eve is alone. When she finally leaves Adam's side Satan makes his move, by approaching her and telling her of all the good things that the fruit that came from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, such as him being able to talk. Satan knows that Eve is the weaker willed of the two and begins to flatter her as well as inform her that an apple has given him the ability to speak. Satan then leads Eve to the tree in which she shies away from knowing that God has forbidden her and Adam from eating from it. Satan, however, does not back down and continues to pressure her into eating the fruit, stating that, "Look on me, me who have touched and tasted, yet both live, and life more perfect have attained than fate meant me, by vent'ring higher than my lot (Lines 684–690)." This twisted information pushes Eve past the point of no return and she takes an apple and bites into it, after which, "Earth felt the wound, and nature from her seat sighing through all her works gave signs of woe, that all was lost (Lines 782–784)," as the fall of Man becomes complete. Many people have an altered idea of what being a vet is about. A lot of physical and emotion endurance is necessary to be a successful veterinarian. Many people are unaware of that. The specific undergraduate course requirements to get into a school of veterinary medicine vary between the schools. All of them are science intensive. Most require a well–rounded education. The University of California at Davis school of veterinary medicine requires one year of general biology, one year of general chemistry, one year of organic chemistry, and one year of physics as far as lower division requirements. Upper division requirements include a semester of biochemistry, a semester of systemic physiology, a semester of vertebrate embryology, and a semester of genetics. On top of that they want their applicants to have taken courses in English composition, humanities, social sciences as well as statistics.
