(Buccolo)
Tiered Assignments aren’t just groups of activities;
they are purposely chosen according to the thinking
skills necessary to complete them.
Definitely need to pre-teach the different activities and
how to do them; also helps to have the posters in the
room for reference
I plan to teach each of the level two and level three
activities from the posters as mini-lessons sprinkled
throughout my daily lessons until the students are
familiar with all of them.
11. My first experience with Tiered Assignments was
when Mr. Norwood co-taught with me in one of my
Senior English classes recently.
We used the Tiered Assignment as the evaluation for
the end of the first section of Dreams from My Father.
Happy to report that the kids were on task for two
solid hours; didn’t complain about the assignment;
and all finished their work!!
