Helen Keller wrote her autobiography at age 22 while attending Radcliffe College. She was born in 1880 in Tuscumbia, Alabama to Captain Arthur H. Keller and Kate Adams Keller. Her family had deep roots in the American South and Switzerland. Keller's autobiography provided a unique perspective as a narrative written by someone who was both deaf and blind.
