1. RIGHT MY WRONGS
BY
BRYSON TILLER
PROPOSED DURATION: The duration of our media product is going to be 4
minutes and 30 seconds and the song itself is long 4
minutes and 11 seconds. We are adding a small
opening to our song to allow the audience to
understand what is going on. our final product is
going to be long as much as the music itself as we
will not add any extra scenes or credits that will make
it longer, not even scenes in between/after/before the
song.
COMPLETION DEADLINE: We are going to
complete this music video by Friday 13th of
January 2017, we are going to finish the
editing and all the pre production and the
post production in this time, our plan is to
finish everything before 2017 and to have
the remaining 2 weeks of January to finish
any last changes and perfections to the video. We want to
release our final product on April 2017 and we are being
strict on timing as we want to be able to get feedback from the investor who will tell
us if our work is good enough or needs improvements in order to be released. With
the feedback we get from the investor, we will have time to manage our music video
and change the things that were not perfect, these things will be changed in the 1
week after mid january. Getting this feedback allows us to change and improve our
music video to make it as good as we can so our audience enjoys it to the fullest.
GENRE: The genre of the track ‘Right my Wrongs’ is Hip
Hop and we think this genre music will fit the age range we are
aiming for because most teenagers in this generation listen to
this style of songs meaning we will be able to reach a wider
audience and be able to connect with them and get this song
2. more widely known. Also, this genre of music is very popular in today’s society, so
our music video will get a higher number of views.
TARGET AUDIENCE: Our target audience is composed by males and females
who have an age between 15 and 24 years. This age group is being chosen by us as
it is the most relatable age to show the message, story and the artist to which we will
then present to the audience. The age group we have aimed at has many people
that we feel can be helped by us through the music video and if it doesn’t help them
it can still teach them a lot of things about relationships that they might not be aware
of, like how to treat their partners in the right and respectful way. Also, aiming at this
age group is perfect for the music video because Bryson Tiller fans are mostly
around this age group. Moving on, this
age group mostly listens to the genre Hip
Hop so we have based the track directly
on adolescents and young adults. Older
people tend to be more mature as they
have more experience in their life so this
is why our message is for a much
younger audience.
BACKGROUND: The song is popular among the young generation and has an
interesting storyline so our group thought people deserved to see the story through a
visual image; it’s also a popular song which deserves to have an official video so that
it can be broadcasted on television resulting in it can becoming an even more known
among other people around the globe. Also, because the track is unreleased, we will
need to create a music video which will be representing and linking to the lyrics of
the track. We are creating this music video because the song ‘Right my Wrongs’
doesn't have a music video yet so we have decided to make our own music video
with the message of the song to show the audience the video for the song which
needs a music video because now it's just an unreleased track with millions of views.
The reason our group chose this song is because we know that Bryson Tiller is a
famous artist with previous hits on his music, also he has a massive fan base
because most people in society support and like his music. As you can see from the
image below, it shows the song ‘Right my Wrongs’ by Bryson Tiller, which shows the
views of the song. The number of view is 37 million, and this is just the views on the
audio track because this is an unreleased song, so if we can make a video for this
song, not only will it show the audience a message, but it will get even more views
because it will show the audience a scene that it happening to match the song.
3. RESEARCH: In beginning of the video we will use two different locations which
are Valentines park and Nando's (Ilford - IG1 1BP), because it will match the
storyline and we’ll use a wide variety of locations. For props, we will need to use
casual clothing (such as jeans or tracksuit, and not anything too formal)because the
actors will need to dress as normal as possible as we will need them to match the
storyline and connect with the target audience needs. We will also need to use
mobile phones to show how the actors communicate in the normal
modern way and use flowers and chocolates to show the link of the
boy apologizing to the girl because of his previous mistakes. We will
recognise the applicable laws as we will not want our music video to
be copyrighted because we are aware of the laws that suggest this
and as a result of that we have sent an email out to the company
asking for permission to use their song in our music video. Also, we have researched
that music videos now have ratings so we will need to make sure our music video is
suitable for the age and target audience we have aimed at,
which are people aged from 15 to 24 years old, we will
make sure that swearing, violence and sex content will be
minimal or not included at all to make sure it fits the BBFC
requirements. We know that the BBFC (British Board Of
Film Classification) Are now putting ratings on music
videos on youtube and VEVO because we found this
evidence from the BBFC website.
SYNOPSIS: The music video will be about a boy who is in a relationship with a girl
who both seem to love each other until she finds out that he has been cheating on
her with another girl. The girl finds out about this by seeing the boy and other girl in
all different locations these include a park, restaurant, and down a high street. The
girl starts to send messages to the boy about
what she has seen and how she is breaking up
with him. Then, later on in the music video, the
boy is trying to ask for forgiveness, by buying
her favorite flowers and chocolate, he is doing
this because she has left him and has seemed
to be doing well without him in her life. He
wants to get her back because of his mistakes
but the girl keeps rejecting his apologies as she felt like cheating on her was too
much so she decided then to ignore him. Later, near the end of the video, the boy
becomes so sad and upset that the girl starts feeling sorry for him and realises that
she does still love him and in her eyes everyone deserves a second chance. She
then finally forgives him and then they walk off together with a fade to white allowing
the audience to imagine their happy ending after this.
4. STYLE: The style of the music video will show the atmosphere and how it changes
through different scenes. At the beginning of the music video, the mood of the scene
will be with high tension and a feeling of betrayal from the girl and sadness from both
sides. Then, through the music video the mood will change to merciful and regret
from the boy as he is trying to ask for forgiveness because of the big mistake he
made and the mess he caused. The mood will then change to a feeling of
despair from the boy as he feels he has lost the best girls he's ever been with
and then we will see how the girl starts feeling sympathy for him as he has
actually made a big effort to apologize to her the best way he knows how.
Lastly, the mood will be uplifted and content since the two actors will be
together and have moved from the sad atmosphere. In the music video we are
going to wear certain colours to represent different things and to show the
audience how the actors are feeling, the main character is going to wear black
for when he is feeling sad and broken, this allows the audience to know how
he is feeling using colours. Another colour we will use is blue for the main girl
who got cheated on, we are using blue for her because it will represent loyalty
and it shows that she really trusted in the boy and she feels sad. We will Also
use red because it represents anger, aggression and love, this is good to use
in the music video because it can relate to what's going on, this colour will be
used on the main girl for when she finds out about the boy cheating, and then
the audience will recognise she her moody of anger.
APPROXIMATE BUDGET:
As a group, we have created a mock budget because we will need to keep track and
see the amount of how much all our props will be which we will need to buy in order
to make the music video successful. The total amount of our budget is £22,102.61
