3. I faced no legal problems such as copyright throughout my production as I
made sure I knew exactly where everything was coming from. For example,
when I was choosing what font I wanted to use if I wasn’t already on
Photoshop as a free to use font, I made sure when browsing Dafont.com that
I had ticked the box that said ‘100% free’ this meant that it would filter out
any of the fonts that you had to pay for or could only use for personal use.
Due to my lack of budget and knowing that the font would be used on a
commercial piece, this proved helpful. One of the other obvious elements of
my poster were the images/graphics and since I was making those myself
they were no risk of copyright issues.
I did throughout my production have to make sure that my work did not
advertise the product to people below the legal drinking age. Due to this
being a poster for a brewery, the products will only be promoted via these
posters in an environment in which people under the legal drinking age will
not be permitted.
I did not start out with a budget for this project and in the end did not need
one, this is because I already had all the equipment I needed therefore I did
not need to purchase anything.
Constraints
4. I feel that I have managed the product particularly well, considering what
work I have produced in comparison to the work I was asked to create by the
client from the brief.
I believe that I have managed my time quite well on this project, though I did
not stick completely to the schedule I had made for myself pre-production.
An example of this is that I ran into my contingency time with my second
poster more than I had planned but I did still finish my work for the
deadline with time for improvements.
One constraint that is particularly restricting is the lack of communication
with the client. This of course being no one parties fault, I started my work
with a good detailed brief and developed my production to it. But I have not
received any feedback or ideas of improvement from the client.
I met the requirements of the brief quite well as I gave the products a
narrative both visually and technically by creating characters and developing
the idea of the movie poster by presenting ‘actor names’. I also as intended
incorporated elements of the products flavor into the visual narrative this
made each piece more individual.
I have learnt how to create different comic styles in Photoshop using a
graphics tablet and how to form different layouts of product posters from
production in this project, which I feel will help with future tasks.
